Thorn slammed his hand on the table, cracking it. I was reminded of King Arman.
“Dude!” Elliott’s eyes bulged. “You broke that huge-ass table. I need to work out with you. The ladies would be flocking to me like moths to a flame.”
Thorn wasn’t calming down.
“I tried to escape the first night we got there, and Falkor grabbed me and threw me over his shoulder, my face to his chest. I had what I thought was a bright idea.” I closed my eyes and rubbed my forehead, not wanting to see anyone’s reaction. “If I pantsed him, he wouldn’t be able to walk without stumbling, and Eva and I would have time to run away.”
Relaxing, Thorn rolled his shoulders. “So why is she insinuating—”
I had to get it out before I couldn’t. “Because I didn’t consider where my head was in relation to his…” I twisted my face as the food inched back up.
“Junk.” Saphira snorted. “His junk was in her face. She went balls deep.”
My eyes flew back open to see Saphira beaming as she studied Thorn and me. She was enjoying watching me squirm and Thorn’s fated-mate reaction.
Brat.
“Whoa.” Elliott lifted a hand. “You gave a dude a blow job to escape?”
“What?” I glared at him. “Of course not. Why would you think that?”
He gestured at Saphira. “She said ‘balls deep.’”
This was getting worse. My face heated. I did not want to be discussingthisat all, but especially not with my twin siblings. “She thinks she’s being cute and clever.”
“Oh, she’snot,” Thorn growled, his pupils slitting.
Cassidy clapped her hands. “Well, this has been fun.” She mashed her lips together, but the corners of her mouth tipped upward.
“Though the execution didn’t go as planned, her strategy makes sense.” Vlad nodded. “When you’re in a bad situation, you might have to try unusual methods to get out of it.” He patted Thorn’s arm. “You have a very smart mate.”
“Mate?” Elliott’s face was lined with confusion. “You mean wife, right?”
“Yes, wife.” Thorn placed an arm on the back of my chair. “And Saphira, if you bring that up again, I won’t hesitate to lock you in the back with Peter.” He grinned so wide he showed his bottom teeth.
Her face fell, and she crossed her arms. “Fine. I’ve been locked in a horrible room for far too long and unable to shi—”
I glared at her, cutting her off.
Her mouth dropped, and she cleared her throat a little too loudly. “Shit. Unable to shit.” Her cheeks turned red as she realized what she’d said.
I laughed wholeheartedly. That was what she got for givingmeshit. The thought made me laugh even harder because the saying had the wordshitin it. I was losing my shi—mind.
Elliott flinched and stepped back. He whispered to Eva, “These people are weird and make me uncomfortable. When Dad wakes up, I hope he’ll push for some answers.”
I tensed. I wished there was a way I could shield him from this world, but it was impossible. Drake was making sure of that.
Everly, he’ll be fine. Look at Eva. She’s already adjusting to everything, even though she’s human,Thorn connected and leaned over to kiss my cheek. They’re your family and love you far more than you know.
I wasn’t sure that was the case. Both Elliott and Eva had always seemed indifferent to me.
A loud bang came on the door as Peter shouted, “Help! Someone help me!”
Lovely, the asshole was awake. Elliott was about to get his wish because Peter had to understand what we were up against. If he didn’t cooperate, he could make our lives a whole lot harder.
Thorn and I stood and marched down the hall with Elliott, Eva, Cassidy, and Vlad right behind us.
It was time to face the devil that had haunted me for so long.
