“Guess I needed to show you both what you were missing while at dinner together.” He smirks.

My face falls at his words. He usually doesn’t come to my family’s dinners, but this is the first time I’ve taken someone else, while he sat in my bedroom, waiting for me to return with someone else. “I’m sorry, Grey.”

“Auggie.” Greyson rushes to me and cups my face. “You don’t need to apologize for taking your fiancée to meet the parents.”

“You should have been there.” I pout, and wrap my hand around his wrist, squeezing it tightly.

“I’ve been to plenty of dinners with your parents, they are not that fun,” he jokes, which makes me crack a smile. “I’m glad it was good for you both,” he says, looking over my shoulder to where Rosalie is.

“You weren’t jealous?” I ask him.

“Babe, I was jealous as fuck, but that’s not what our relationship can be. You know that, Rosalie knows, and I know that. It doesn’t make me love you any less, Auggie.”

My heart aches for this selfless man and all he is giving up by loving me. I don’t know if the roles were reversed if I could. He’s a better man than me.

“You know I love you, Greyson,” I tell him, needing him to know that in this moment.

“I do.”

I pull him toward me and kiss him passionately. Saying without words that he is my world and I’m so sorry that he can’t be by my side during family dinners, or state dinners, or any of those things that Rosalie will get to be a part of. I need him to know that he has my heart and soul, and will forever.

“I’m going to head back to my room. The two of you need tonight together,” Rosalie states.

“Don’t go,” Greyson says.

She shakes her head. “I’ve had him all night, it’s your turn now.” And with that, she opens the door and sneaks out.

“I’m sorry,” Greyson tells me.

“Why?”

“That I pushed Rosalie away.”

“I don’t think you did that.”

“But she left.” He sighs.

“Because she understood that you and I needed time alone together. That we had a beautiful dinner together but now it’s time to spend the other portion of my night with you.”

“I don’t want to get between the two of you,” Greyson says.

“Hey.” Now it’s my turn to hold his face in my hands. “You are my world, Grey. Now and forever. The three of us are working it out, but the fact that she understood that you and I might need this time alone together, makes my heart bloom for her. We made the right decision with Rosalie, Grey. This is what we wanted, that my fiancée would give us space to be together.”

“We also didn’t realize we would equally want her as much as we do, either,” he adds.

“Imagine if we didn’t?”

Greyson shakes his head and smiles.

“It’s hard navigating all this and the fact that we have everyone against us,” I confess to him.

“All we need is time to sort out how the three of us work. But we also need to make sure we aren’t self-sabotaging ourselves either,” he explains.

“As long as you know I will never stop loving you, Grey. No matter what transpires with Rosalie. I could never stop loving you.”

“I know,” Greyson says as he leans forward and kisses me.

Our kiss is slow and languid, there’s no rush for anything more than reconnecting between the two of us. I slowly move Grey away from the door and toward the bed as I continue to kiss my man. I shuck off my suit jacket and kick off my shoes without breaking our kiss.
