Page 98 of Give Me What I Want

There I was, spread out on the kitchen island, hair in rollers, makeup half done, no doubt looking a complete mess, pussy and ass thoroughly covered in cum as I stared at them sleepily, then realised the time.

Fifteen minutes later, cleaned up and comfy on the sofa, I was switching on my laptop just in time to catch the interview as it went live. I called the guys into the lounge, and we all got comfy. Ro sat with me, snuggled up in a thick, cream blanket. Cole and Mav were on the other sofa, both manspreading like nobody’s business. All of them topless, looking like gods.

We listened as Gwen introduced herself, Maggie, and then us. For the first half an hour we sat and discussed tour life, our start seven years ago, our big break four years ago, and the charity work that we had been pushing so much over the last eight weeks with the special edition album.

“So, a little birdie told me that you actually have some big news, and that my listeners are going to be the first to hear it,” Gwen said, an unmistakable smile in her voice.

“Tweet tweet,” Maggie chimed in, and the rest of us laughed.

“That little birdie is right, we have huge news,” I confirmed. “Deity,” I paused for dramatic effect. “Are taking an indefinite hiatus. We’ve been making music for seven years now, and we have loved all of it, the ups and even the downs. We appreciate everyone who has supported us, and one day we hope to return. But for now, this is what is best for us all. We need to take some time for ourselves, time to heal, to grow, and to learn to live with our new dynamic, we need to do that far away from the spotlight.”

“That is huge news,” Gwen said, sounding taken aback. “And I think I can speak for pretty much everyone when I say that we will miss you and that we hope that one day comes sooner rather than later.”

“Maybe it will,” Cole hinted with a laugh. “And until that happens, I’m going to start brewing my own ale, so if anyone wants to buy that—”

“This isn’t the right time to be plugging your bloody piss beer, Cole,” Ronan snapped.

“Plug away, my friend, plug away,” Gwen laughed. “But correct me if I heard you wrong, Beatrix, but did you say new dynamic? What does that mean?”

I barked a laugh. “Caught that then. It means that the four of us are no longer just bandmates. While on tour we connected in a different way, but you guys only knew about me and Ro.”

“So, you’ve bagged yourself three smoking hot rockstars,” Gwen exclaimed, gasping.

“Actually, it’s more like the three of us managed to bag ourselves one drop-dead gorgeous rockstar,” Mav said, and I remembered how he had smiled when he said, that, splitting his face in two as his eyes crinkled, sparkling like emeralds.

“She is stunning,” Maggie agreed. “This is awesome news, guys. Musicians in love, it’s beautiful.”

Ro pulled me closer, knocking one of my rollers out of place, but I didn’t mind. “Just like you, Queenie.”

“Aww, Shnookums,” I gushed loudly. “You’re adorable.”

Ro scowled, and shoved me away, making me laugh as he folded his arms and started to glare.

The interview went on, but I had zoned out now that the important part had been and gone. Then at the end, Gwen announced that there was a highlights video if anyone wanted to see us drop the bombshell on screen, and I snatched up the laptop to search for it. We laughed at the video as it rolled, zooming in on Maggie’s shocked face as I said that we were taking a break from music.

“That was perfect,” I said, grinning from ear to ear. “The world knows.”

“Now we just need to get through this party, and we can finally take our break,” Mav said with a heavy sigh.

“I bet the label will be over the moon to see the backs of us,” Cole laughed.

I got up from the sofa, about to head upstairs and finish getting ready for the party. “No more drama for them to put up with.”

“And no more telling us what to do,” Ro added, looking most pleased about that part. He never had particularly liked doing as he was told when it came to the big bosses.

“And no more Garth,” I said as I reached the doorway, trying and failing to hide my pleasure over that. The guy may not have been out to get me in the end, but I still didn’t like him, and he didn’t like me.

If and when we came back, we’d start fresh.

New label. New manager. New us.

Epilogue

Halloween

The monitor behind my head beeped, and I jumped, staring at Mav, willing him to tell me that it was fine, that the beep was normal, and that it didn’t mean anything. It was good in fact, not scary.

“What the hell was that?” he asked, tapping the nurse on the shoulder.Fuck.“Why did it make a weird noise?”
