I open the door and walk into the house. Aunt Cass, Skylar, and Reagan are all sitting at the kitchen table. No Mom. Damn. When will she snap out of this?
Reagan looks me up and down and squints her eyes. “You had sex.”
My eyes widen. “What? No, I didn’t.”
Aunt Cass turns her head to me and also looks me up and down. “Yes, you totally did.” Skylar nods in agreement.
I stare at them all. “Are you three witches?”
Reagan turns to Aunt Cass “That sounds like a yes to me.”
Aunt Cass nods. “Sure does. Good for you, kiddo.”
I sit down and sigh. “How the hell do you guys know? Am I wearing a sign?”
Aunt Cass grabs my hand. “Harley, I love you like you’re my own, but you are the most uptight woman on the face of the planet. There’s something bizarrely relaxed about you right now. Something that only a good time in the sheets could possibly achieve. Frankly, it’s unsettling to see you like this.” She smirks at me.
I roll my eyes. “I’m not that uptight.”
Skylar and Reagan respond in unison. “Yes, you are.”
Reagan couldn’t possibly be more excited. “So, did you bring in a bench player or someone new?” She thinks she’s making a joke.
“I met a guy at the club last night.”
Reagan looks shocked. “What was his name?”
“Brody.”
“Brody what?”
I look down, preferring not to answer that. She’s staring at me, clearly not letting me get away with avoiding the question.
I mumble, “I didn’t get his last name.”
She has a huge grin on her face. “I’m sorry, who are you and what have you done with my sister?”
Skylar interrupts. “Seriously Harley. That’s so unlike you.” She smiles at Reagan and Aunt Cass. “I’m so excited.”
“You guys make me sound like a prude.”
Reagan rolls her eyes. “We didn’t say that you’re a prude. You’ve just never had sex with someone you weren’t in a relationship with. You’re a serial monogamist.”
Aunt Cass shivers. “Ugh, monogamy. Don’t use that word in my presence.”
“Fine, I agree. It wasn’t like me. But I did it, so deal with it.”
“How was it?” Reagan just wants details.
I blow out a long breath. “Really fucking good. Like best sex of my life good.”
She smiles. “Are you going to see him again?”
“No.”
“He didn’t want your number? I find that hard to believe. Look at you.”
“I didn’t give him the chance. I wouldn’t even give him my name.” I pause for a moment, not making eye contact with any of them. “And it was against the wall on the roof of the club.”
