“Tell them what?”
“That we’re in a relationship.”
“Is that what we are?”
He narrows his eyes at me. “Tell me, Cassandra. And please be honest this time around. Do you have any desire to be with another man?”
I blow out a breath. Eventually I shake my head, no.
He smiles. “I thought as much. I have no desire for any other women. Not one single ounce. I desire you and only you.”
He thrusts his erection onto me.
“Jesus, Trevor, is the stallion ever in the corral?”
“Not around you. He’s always ready to gallop for you, Sexy.” He smiles at me.
I look up and see Harley staring at us. This is about to blow up. I can feel it coming.
The photographer taps my shoulder and asks me to gather the family for a few portraits. It’s fortunate timing for many reasons.
I somehow manage to gather Darian’s enormous family for a bunch of photographs.
They’re almost done. They’re taking a Lawrence, Knight, Cooper big group photo. Darian looks at me. “Cassandra, come join us.”
I don’t think she realizes how much that means to me.
We’re all standing there posing while the photographer shoots away. Jackson smacks the back of Trevor’s head. “Trevor, stop fidgeting. Why are you such a toddler?”
“Sorry, Dad. I have poison ivy and it itches.”
Hayden looks at him suspiciously. “Where were you that you got poison ivy?”
Trevor smiles. Oh no. “I was having some fun in the woods with this hot chick.” He gives me a little side eye.
I hear Harley mutter, “Oh shit.”
Darian and Skylar both gasp. Reagan puts her head down to hide her big smile.
Jackson looks down at Darian. “What’s wrong, sugar?”
“Nothing. I just need to have a chat with Cassandra for a minute. Are we done here?”
The photographer nods, and Darian grabs my arm. “Move. Now.” We head out of the party area. Harley, Reagan and Skylar immediately follow.
We find a small, private room, and go inside. Darian shuts the door. “Cassandra, please tell me you are not actually fucking my stepson. Please tell me that it’s a coincidence that you both have poison ivy from having sex in the woods.”
I’m not sure why Reagan has an enormous grin on her face, but she does.
I look Darian in the eyes. “I don’t want to lie to you. At least not anymore. I’m sorry, Dare.”
Darian looks around the room. She waves her finger. “Skylar looks shocked, just like me. Harley and Reagan, neither of you look remotely shocked. Would you like to tell me why?”
Reagan speaks first. “I saw them embracing at the hospital. It looked like more than just a normal friendly hug. I sort of assumed something was going on.” She looks at me. “Sorry, Aunt Cass.”
Darian closes her eyes for a moment. “I see. Harley?”
Harley looks at me, and I nod. I won’t ask her to lie to her mother anymore. “I saw them together at your house over Memorial Day.”
