“As you wish then,” he said, reluctantly.

I let myself out. I’d fucked up and knew I’d be fired soon. Instead of returning to my cabin, I wandered down the hall and then down a flight of steps to the crew mess. First OfficerHoly Hotnesswas standing at the sink rinsing out a bowl when I entered the room.

“Aye-aye, Cap’n,” I said cheerfully.

Without turning around he responded to my greeting. “Not yet, handsome, and do not let the real captain ever hear you say that.”

“Oops. My bad.”

“Where have you been hiding? Didn’t you say you were a deckhand?” he asked. “I haven’t seen you around.”He’d been looking for me?He reached for a dish towel and dried his dish.

“That was my original job offer, but Starr diverted me to Mr. C.’s cabin as his butler,” I said. “A far better gig so far.”

“Well, well, well. I suppose I better keep my urges to myself then,” he said.

“Are you flirting with me?”

“Wow! You finally picked up on that, huh?” He finally turned around. He was just as hot as he was in the copter. Maybe hotter since he was in his uniform. The tight white trousers did little to hide his cock. The head of it was clearly outlined on them.Commando?

“Aren’t we supposed to avoid these types of interactions with the crew?” I asked. I slid into the booth that wrapped around a large table that had crew snacks strewn across it. He stepped forward and pushed his crotch against the table. His manhood rested perfectly on the top of it. My eyes remained locked on his dick.

“True. That’s what the rule book says anyway, but we only have a two-week voyage on this trip, right?”

“Good point,” I agreed. “Where are you headed after this?”

“I’m hearing rumors that if I behave and do my job here, the captain’s job on his other yacht in the Mediterranean could be mine.”

“Good for you. Congratulations. How about we behave then,” I said. Obeying the rules sounded boring but keeping my job was my priority. “I’ll leave my contact information with you before we disembark. Perhaps you’ll have a position for me in the future?”

“I’ve definitely got a position for you! Maybe even a job.” We both laughed. “That’s if our boss doesn’t get his claws into you.”

“And what are you insinuating?” I asked.

“I’m implying nothing, handsome, but I’ve heard about Mr. Carrington’s specific type, and you fit the bill to perfection.” He placed his hands on the table and leaned toward me. “Maybe you won’t want to wait for a wannabe captain when you can skip right to the top of the pyramid?”

“Like you said, do us both a favor and never repeat that again please,” I said.

“I’m just letting you know.” He dragged his fingers across his lips as an imaginary zipper. “Got it!”

CHAPTER SIXTEEN: Lincoln

Three days on board and other than my trips to the gym, I hadn’t been out of my cabin. I had figured that a couple of weeks on the yacht would clear my mind and heal a broken heart, but that wasn’t working apparently. The only thing that kept me from missing Troy was the constant presence of my new butler. Dek was stunning to look at and so goddamned good at his job. He was nearly a savant at knowing my needs before I did. However, my main need, him in my bed, was where he was failing at his job. The thought of him naked on the bed with me exploring a body I had yet to see out of his whites, drove me mad.

There was a knock at the cabin door. Please be Dek. Please be naked.“It’s unlocked,” I yelled across the room.

“Are you going to remain here the entire sailing?” Bob asked, entering and immediately walking to the bar for one of his favorite bottles of beer. “I would have stayed home if I’d known you were going to be such a fucking dud.”

“Fuck off!” I snipped. My eyes glanced toward the manila file folder in his hand. “What did you find?”

“Are you sure you want to do this?” he asked. “It’s clearly a violation of his privacy, boss man.”

“I’m curious is all,” I lied. “Maybe he’ll grow within the company. I’m doing research.”

“Bullshit! What you’re doing is a background check on a crush,” Bob said. He twisted the cap off of his beer and sat on a barstool facing me. “You really want to start something with an employee?” I shrugged my shoulders. “And let’s say it works out and then he finds out you had him investigated?”

He was right. I hadn’t thought about that. “Then don’t give me any details,” I said. “Well… maybe just a hint or two.”

“Do you want the full report or not?” he asked.
