He released his hold on me. My body started to shake with fear as anxiety coursed through me. I couldn’t leave with him to live a life of just being a baby making machine. It might never be a possibility for us and if that was the case, what would happen to me?
Slowly getting up, my head pounded, trying to think of a way to get out of this, but hope was slowly dwindling away. I walked to my trunk a little wobbly, opening it up to see my knives.
Before I could make a decision, he pulled my head back by my hair and I cried out.
“I told you to fucking hurry,” he yelled in my face.
He looked down in the trunk, seeing my knives, and he lost it.
“You think you could kill me? You magic-less whore.” He pulled me back before I could reach for my knives. The one day I didn’t have them strapped on my thigh is the day I needed them the most.
“Caston, don’t—” He punched me this time, pain exploding from my cheek as we fell on the bed. He pushed my hands above my head when my vision slowly returned.
“Caston, you don’t want to do this.” I struggled against him, seeing double of everything. His hands searched under my dress, pulling my underwear off.
“You know I like it when you fight me,” he snapped, and I heard his belt coming undone, making me thrash more.
“Caston, stop,” I pleaded, worried he was also going to see my mark and god knows what he would do if he saw that.
“Just lay back and take it or I’ll—
The door to the room exploded open and Caston’s weight lifted off of me. I expected to see Lucien, but Zev threw Caston out of my room.
Not expecting Zev to come to my rescue, I was stunned.
“Are you ok?” He loomed over me with concern on his face. He put my dress down for me as he helped me up, dizziness made my stance wobbly, and he held me against his hard body.
I nodded, not knowing what to say, feeling embarrassed that he had to save me.
“Who the fuck do you think you are?” Caston yelled, coming back into the room, looking at Zev with murder in his eyes.
Zev looked at Caston with deadly calm, pushing me behind him.
“Who the fuck do you think you are?” His voice had taken on his wolf’s and Caston’s face paled a little.
“I’m her fucking husband, and we are leaving,” he demanded.
Zev didn’t bother answering him, pushing him back out of the room.
“What the hell—”
I got up from my bed to see Aeon and Lucien at the door. They surrounded Caston, making him look small.
“I’m giving you one chance to get the fuck out of here or we will make you leave,” Zev growled.
Caston glared at all of them until he was red in the face, and I realized he was foolishly trying to use his magic on them.
“You're going to have to try harder than that. A telepath trained us and taught us well to protect our minds.” Aeon smirked, amused, and I for one, was very impressed. Caston could manipulate many people, and there were very few people who could block his power.
“Fine, we will just leave,” he snapped, looking at me and walked away.
He hijacked my mind, and I followed him. When we left the house, Lucien turned around to see me. His glare turned murderous when he saw my face. He stopped right in front of me, but I sidestepped him and kept walking.
“Kit Kat, what are you doing?” He jogged up to me, but no matter what I did to try and break Caston’s hold, I kept walking. “Kit Kat, answer me.”
I couldn’t do anything except follow Caston to the gate.
“Katarina.” Aeon had turned around at this point looking at me. “Maybe you should go back to the house.”
