Stepping down the concrete stairs, my footsteps echoing, I made myway to the basement, pressing my finger on the scanner once I reached the steel door and stepped inside where I found Blaze tied to the chair in the middle of the room. Along the back wall was a long table where tools and instruments designed to inflict torture were laid out.

Blood trickled down the whore's face from a gash above her eyebrowand from the scratch on Vince's cheek, I figured the stupid bitch had tried to flee. A cloth had been shoved into her mouth, held in place by a rope that was tied around the back of her head, her hands were bound behind her back and her legs tied together. Black smears of mascara trailed down her puffy red cheeks, evidence of her tears.

Although her tears were nowhere to be seen now, instead the bitchscowled at me causing a chuckle to fall from my lips.

“Was she a bit too much for you to handle on your own, Vince?” Iasked my loyal bodyguard, humor evident in my voice. Vince was a big motherfucker, he wouldn't like being mocked at a tiny woman getting the better of him.

“She slipped out of my grip, Boss,” he mumbled and glared daggersat Blaze.

I took a step closer to the woman and a hint of fear flashed throughher eyes, but only briefly before she continued scowling at me.

“I don't believe we have been acquainted as yet, Blaze, my name isKai Wolfe.”

Recognition dawned and the scowl instantly dropped from her face. She suddenly started thrashing in her chair, attempting to break free as muffled screams emitted from behind her gag, which was annoying as fuck and wouldn't get her anywhere.

She knew who I was.

She knew she was fucked.

I let her shout, let her twist in her chair, and attempt to break free ofher restraints until she realized there was no way out of this shit, and when she quietened down, I nodded to Vince to undo her gag.

“What do you want from me?” she rasped when she could finally talk.

“I want you to tell me all about the cunt who murdered my brother.”

She didn't reply immediately and that was a sign enough for me toknow that she did indeed knowexactlywhat I was talking about.

“I-I don't know anything,” she stuttered over her lie and my lips curledinto a lopsided smile.

She wanted to play games?

Fine by me.

I walked over to the table at the back of the room and selected a pairof pliers, I thought we'd start small, I didn’t want the whore to pass out straight away from the pain.

Not that I thought I’d actually have to torture her too much, I had afeeling Blaze was full of false bravado, and I was about to put my theory to the test.

Chapter 5

Riley

DidIfeellikea traitorous bitch for forgoing my morals?

Yes.

But did I regret it?

Not in the slightest.

Especiallynot when Angel's face lit up like a god-damn Christmastree when I gave her not only the stupid computer game but also a new games console to play it on.

I bought us both new beds so we didn’t have to sleep on the crappymattresses we'd been sleeping on for the last few years, and for once, our fridge was fully stocked with delicious treats.

Angel was suspicious as to where the money had come from, thesmart ass was far too intuitive for her age, but I assured her the money had been as a result of a bonus at work and not selling my body as she suggested. It was a teeny tiny lie, I hadn't actually sold my body, at least not in the way she thought I had.

It had been exactly one week since I had danced for the man I nowknew to be Kai Wolfe, the motherfucking kingpin of Hollows Bay. The man who was rumored to control the police, the justice system, and the criminals of the city.

From what I had learned about him over the past week, it seemedeveryone thought he was the man who owned this city and a man to be feared.
