"I guess you're right," she sighs. When she glances back at me again, she says, "Can you please put some clothes on now?"
"Why?" I ask because I’m unable to help myself. "You like what you see a little too much?" I tease.
Felicity rolls her eyes as she turns away, I chuckle. A second later, a knock sounds on the door, and Felicity, who's closest to the door moves to open it.
"Where's Dad?” I hear Eli asking.
"Well, good morning to you too, Eli."
"Where is he?"
"I'm here, Kiddo." I slide my shirt on and move to the door, pulling it further open to make room for myself. "What's up?"
"Breakfast is getting cold. Grandma said I should tell you."
"Have you had breakfast?" Declan asks Eli, who nods.
"I had pancakes with sausage and hash browns."
"Felicity and I are actually not hungry. We will just head straight home because she has an appointment. So, go get ready."
Eli nods and turns away, I only now realize how close I am to Felicity and how the scent of her shampoo drifts into my nostrils.
"I'm sorry about Eli." I apologize because I know he has been rude to her again.
"It's nothing. I am determined to win him over," she says as she turns to look into my eyes. I face her back, unable to look away.
"You are so beautiful." The words are out of my mouth before I know it, but I don't regret uttering them because Felicity really is beautiful, especially at this moment, with her head tilted and her eyes filled with that familiar desire I'd witnessed just this morning.
"Thank you," Felicity whispers. I bring my hand to her lips again, sliding my fingers over her lips like I'd done this morning, while I relive our moment again in my head.
"Maybe we shouldn't," Felicity says, even though she's leaning into my touch, her lips already parted, and she is breathing deeply-- Faster.
"Maybe," I whisper against her lips because the need to taste her again has overridden logic.
Our second kiss is even sweeter, Felicity tastes even better. I am fast becoming addicted to the taste of her lips, I wonder what the hell that means. I shouldn't be craving touching Felicity like this, but I do. She kisses me back hard, her arms wrapping around my neck as I pull her flesh against me, enjoying the feel of the soft press of her breast against my body.
When she moans softly, I completely lose it. I kiss her harder now, sliding my tongue against hers, stroking the wet flesh with mine, and moving my hands over the bodice of her dress, looking for an opening to slide my hands through. But Felicity steps back before I can do so, chest heaving and eyes wide.
I shut my eyes and turn away from her, moving to my old desk to grab the keys I'd dropped. Then, I make my way to the door because I know that if I spend another second in this room with Felicity, I am going to end up doing what is on both of our minds. That in itself is going to be an absolute mess.
Chapter Twelve
Declan
Ifeelstifled.Felicityhas not said a word since we left. I know that I am supposed to say something to her, but I don't know what.
She is currently looking out the window and not paying me any mind. Eli is busy on his iPad, even if he senses the tension between us, he does not comment on it.
I want to talk to Felicity, but I don't know what to say. There is no denying my attraction to her now. I find her really attractive and desirable. Keeping my hands off her has become a herculean task.
The song that plays on the radio makes the silence between Felicity and me slightly bearable. I continue to look at her as I drive, wishing I could tell what she was thinking.
Does she regret agreeing to help me?
My heart aches at the thought that I have done something to warrant that. Then, when I suddenly remember that Felicity has to give me directions to her apartment, I glance at her quickly as I turn left onto the side street. I remember she mentioned residing in Riverview.
"I will need directions."
