Stars burst behind my lids as I explode against his fingertips. His squeeze tightens around my throat as he loses himself pounding into me. I feel him quake before letting out a predatory growl as he blows inside me.

I moan as he pulls his length out of me, slumping my weight against the wall.

“Mmm,” I moan, opening my eyes, locking onto his. I smile at the look of utter satisfaction I find on his face, knowing I put it there.

Trigger buckles his pants back up. Securing his belt, he leans forward kissing the back of my head. “Good girl.”

If I wasn’t already soaking wet, that right there would have me drenched.

He motions to the bathroom down the hall with a chin lift. “Go clean up, I’ll make sure no one comes in.”

I wink at him with a smile before rushing into the bathroom.

TRIGGER

Cut a Bitch

“We’re pulling up now,” Lee croaks over the phone as I push the door of Maggie’s diner open.

“She’s there. Just knock on the door and let her know what you have,” I respond, holding the phone between my ear and shoulder as I wave to Claire with one hand and reach for my wallet with the other.

“10/4. I’ll see you in a bit.” Lee hangs up and I pocket my phone as Claire smiles at me from the hostess stand.

“Good afternoon, handsome. Your order is almost ready! Give me a few minutes to pack it up.”

“No worries, Claire.”

“Trigger!” a sweet voice calls from behind the bar where people are sitting and eating their lunch.

I smile when I see Claudia there waving at me, clad in her waitress apron. “They got you back here working?” I call to her.

She nods with a smile as she takes the last couple steps over to me, reaching up on her tiptoes to give me a hug.

“It’s the least I can do to help Mama with Daddy still in the hospital,” she says with a soft smile.

“I heard he’s doing somewhat better, right? Maybe you’ll get to go back soon.”

She holds her hands up with both fingers crossed. “I may not even want to go back. I might just transfer to Trinity.”

“No shit?”

She shrugs her shoulders, picking at a piece of what looks like dried food from her apron. “Being home is nice. I miss my parents, and this kinda just set in stone that I’m homesick.”

“If you decide to come home for good, you should talk to Flame about taking over his apartment. Flame found a house where he can settle down with Bunny, so I’m sure he would feel good having someone in the family take it over.”

Claudia’s face lights up as she smiles widely. “That’s a great idea!”

Claire comes up behind Claudia with a brown paper bag and holds it out to me. “Here ya go, sugar.”

“Thanks, Claire.” I give her my best smile before turning back to Claudia. “You should really think about it.”

I wave at the two ladies as I turn to step out of the diner.

Pebbles texted me this morning to let me know she was going to be at her house today. When I left last night, I called and talked to Ghost to see if the prospects could work on bringing her furniture from the apartment to the house so she could move in as soon as possible. Her text saying she was going to be there worked out perfectly.

I pull into the driveway behind her SUV. Wes’s truck and trailer are parked out front along the grass. I nod to Lee and Wes as they unload the couch.
