Half a second later, I felt Knox release. Brooks was the last to hold off, but only by a few seconds, his hands forcing me down, the tip of his cock fully down my windpipe, and I kept him in place, relishing the drip of his climax until all three of us had fully expelled everything.
I raised my head as Knox withdrew from me, my body shaking almost violently. On either side, the men supported me, concern on both their faces.
“Are you okay?” Brooks asked worriedly.
I nodded, unable to speak, but wanting to tell them how utterly satisfied and spent I was.
“I’ll get some water,” Knox suggested, jumping up from the couch.
I eyed him gratefully as Brooks continued to look me over. “Are you sure you’re okay?”
Swallowing, I found my voice. “Yes,” I rasped. “I’m just catching my breath.”
He laughed shakily. “Same,” he replied, but I could read the apprehension on his face as if he worried I felt used.
I reached for his hand and squeezed it reassuringly, a grin overtaking my wobbly expression. “Are you okay?”
He bobbed his head vehemently. “I mean… yeah. I… that was great… wasn’t it?”
He met my eyes imploringly, and my smile solidified. “Yes,” I purred, kissing his lips. “It was great. I can’t wait to do it again.”
CHAPTER15
Simone
Over the next few days, I felt as though Knox was avoiding us. Brooks was acting the same around me, but Knox went out of his way to stay out of the room when I was there in particular. I couldn’t be sure if he was doing the same with his cousin.
“You’re imagining things,” Brooks reassured me when I asked. “That’s just how Knox is. He keeps to himself most of the time.”
The answer disappointed me. I really felt as if we’d shared something special, not like I’d been something to pass the time or some conquest.
“Is he embarrassed about what happened?” I pressed. “Maybe I should talk to him about it?”
“He’ll come around,” Brooks insisted. “That’s just how he is. The worst thing you can do with Ryder or Knox is push them. Trust me.”
I bit on my lower lip and agreed to leave well enough alone, but it bothered me to think that I hadn’t really bonded with Knox the way I had with Brooks.
I swirled my oatmeal around in my bowl, and Brooks exhaled dramatically. “What’s wrong, Simone?”
“I don’t know,” I muttered, knowing fully. “I just… that was the first time I’d ever done anything like that, and I kind of feel…”
Brooks jerked his head back, eyes narrowing slightly. “Feel what?”
“It’s just weird that he’s avoiding me.”
Brooks stared at me across the table, his blue eyes thinking. “It’s the first time we’ve done this, too,” he reminded me. “Maybe it’s just a time of reflection for everyone. Did that ever occur to you?”
It hadn’t. I offered him a sheepish grin.
“Just give Knox time. You know that we don’t really deal with the outside world much. You have to give us a little more leeway than most.”
I nodded agreeably. “All right. But you’re sure he’s not, like… mad or anything?”
“He’s definitely not mad,” Brooks insisted. “Trust me.”
I did trust Brooks. Fully. He had remained my steadfast and constant companion from the start, and even if Knox wasn’t behaving exactly as I’d hoped in the wake of our impromptu threesome, Brooks hadn’t faltered.
We spent our days reading or playing board games. Sometimes, I would go with him to check traps, but after seeing a couple of dead animals, I quickly realized I didn’t have the stomach for it and started staying home when he did that.
