“I’ll give you my Amex and just buy what you need.”

“How many people are going to be there?”

“Fifty.”

Her green eyes widen in surprise. “Fifty?”

“Yep.”

“Kids?”

“A mixture. My friends will be coming by.”

She nods. “Okay, good. I was about to recant my offer.” My lips lift a bit before I shove that action away. “I’m going to go get started on that then.”

“You do that.”

Leaning over my bumper, I assume she’s going to waltz right back in the house but, fuck me, she’s still here.

“Kai, do you mind if I have next Saturday off?”

My attention is immediately piqued, which causes me to steal another glance at her. “Next Saturday the girls are with their mother figure so you’re already free.”

She grins. “Perfect.”

Then she decides to pivot and stride toward the house, but now I’m not done with her yet.

“Every other weekend is what my ex and I try to do,” I tell her, causing her to turn back toward me. “However, Olivia likes to travel so I’m left with the kids more often than not. I prefer it that way.”

“Okay. If you need to give her my phone number in case she needs to drop the girls off and you’re not here—”

“I don’t want her to be any part of your life,” I retort. Even though I know Molly is being considerate, there’s no world where I’m going to allow my ex anywhere near Molly. “I’m doing you a favor.”

“I…appreciate that, but—”

“Olivia will call me…and I’ll let you know.”

She nods. “Okay.”

A few beats go by before I ask, “What’s going on Saturday?”

I hate that I asked, but I can’t help but be curious as all hell about what this woman does in her free time.

“Dodgers game.”

I perk a brow. “You like sports?”

“Baseball only.”

Imagining her in royal-blue LA Dodger gear makes my cock twitch. “Have fun.”

Molly doesn’t appear like she fully believes me but she gives me a smile anyway, then finally walks away.
