“Brother.” Antonio pulled the letter from my fist, nearly ripping it in two. “Sit down.”
“We need to call the police.” Riley started around the table, but Massimo grabbed her by the arm.
“No. We can’t involve them. Sit down, Riley. Please.”
Riley plopped into a chair, tears rolling down her face. “I don’t understand.”
“Riley…" Massimo sighed. "I’ll explain it all. Just give Vin a chance to calm down.”
I ran my hand over my face, sighing as my eyes closed. “What are we going to do?”
“Donny is already sending men to look for the courier. Where does Megan live? We need to search her place and see if there is anything leading us to her whereabouts. I think it’s safe to assume Dmitri has her.”
Riley stood. “I’ll go grab her information.” We watched as she hurried toward the office.
“You’re going to have to bring her in on things, Vincenzo. Can we trust her?”
I stared down the empty hallway in her direction. “I’ll talk to her.”
“That didn’t answer my question. Can she be trusted with the family?”
“I believe so. Alec found nothing on her, and she has given me no reason to believe otherwise. I’ll talk to her after you leave.”
“Here’s her personnel file.” Riley handed Massimo the folder and stepped back. “I’ll just go.”
“No. Wait.” I stood and grabbed her wrist and looked at my brothers. “Let me know what you find. I need a moment with Riley.”
Antonio and Massimo saw themselves out, leaving us alone. “I need to know that I can trust you, Riley.”
“What do you mean? Of course, you can trust me, but what does that have to do with what's going on?”
“What I’m about to tell you not only puts you at risk, but it puts my entire family at risk as well. I trust you, Riley… I just need to know you can keep this secret.”

Riley
“Riley, are you listening to me?” Vincenzo tilted his head at me, reminding me he was talking. He'd just told me what I already knew. He was in the Mob. Hell, it was the whole reason I dug my chef’s coat out of the closet and pretended to be the girl I once was.
“Hmmm? Yes, I heard you. Your family’s secret is safe with me. I’m a loyal employee, Vincenzo. You don’t have to worry about me telling anyone I work for the Mob.”
“Riley. I don’t want you to worry. I promise you’re safe here.”
“It’s not that.” I paced the floor. “Who is La Lama? Do you know him?”
Vincenzo watched me, his eyes darkening with something sinister. An expression of fear and desire washed through my body.
“Let’s not talk of that right now.”
I walked toward the office. My mind racing with confusion. “This is serious. La Lama is one of the most wanted criminals in the world.”
“How do you know that?”
I stuttered, the slip causing him to eye me suspiciously. “I watch America’s Most Wanted. I saw it on there once.”
He closed the door to the office, caging me inside the room with him. Vincenzo took several steps toward me, forcing me onto his desk. “Can I really trust you, Riley?”
“I already told you yes.” The sexual tension was profound throughout the room, making my heart race with uncertainty. His closeness made my insides pulse with need. He leaned into me and whispered into my ear. His warm breath caused my pussy to flood with desire. “I need to be honest with you.”
