I turned on my heels to glare at him. "What did you say?"
"I said, are you alone because you're boring as fuck? Or maybe you've got a dick problem or something," he said, contemplating it. "I'm thinking probably both."
My body slammed into his, and we both hit the floor. Cian grunted, and I almost laughed as the air was knocked from his lungs. I saw the panicked look on his face morph into anger, but I didn't stop. I straddled his lap, my hands around his throat as he lifted his hips trying to buck me. The back of my hand connected with Cian's cheek. His head turned to the side before he turned back to stare at me, a trickle of blood sliding over his bottom lip.
"You want to try that shit again?" I asked.
Cian licked the blood away. "If I do, will you hit harder than a little bitch? That was pretty fucking weak."
"What are you two doing?" Ronan hissed as he stood beside us. "You're going to wake up Jack."
I quickly climbed off of Cian. "We were just having a conversation," I said.
"A conversation with your fists?" Ronan asked.
I didn't have an answer to that. Cian slowly pulled himself to his feet, still panting as he tried to regulate his breathing. All the while, that grin stayed in place. I wanted to knock it off of his face. Cian stepped forward and slapped my shoulder.
"Don't worry.I know you only acted that severely because it was true."
I wanted to wring his neck. Every bit of my composure was stolen away as I thought about kicking Cian's ass. A hand pressed against my chest and pushed me back. I glanced at Ronan as he shook his head.
"He's just trying to rile you up. Ignore him," he said. "What are you two fighting about anyway?"
"Nothing," I said as I pinched the bridge of my nose. "We've only been here a few days and everyone is climbing up the walls. I don't know how we're going to last."
"We'll be fine," Ronan said as he gazed toward Jack's room. "Mostly fine. What we started with Jack..." He trailed off.
"It's wrong," I answered.
Ronan half nodded, half shrugged. "Yes, that," he muttered. "Declan will have our heads if he finds out."
Cian laughed. "Yeah, right." When we both turned to stare at him, he grinned. "You two really think Jack is going to say anything? He loves this shit. I've never seen anyone who wanted to be fucked into submission so badly. You two are just soft."
"You're just a pervert," I snapped. "Keep your hands off of him. I'm trying to make sure he stays in this house and stays alive. You're trying to make sure he ends up on your cock."
"Guilty," Cian chuckled.
I stepped closer to him, invading his space. "If you put your dick anywhere near him, I'll handle you."
"Oh yeah?" He stepped closer until our chests touched. "How?"
Even with three inches of height on me, I didn’t give a fuck. Cian was a big man. One that needed to be taken down a peg.
"Trust me, you don't want me to give you the same treatment," I answered. "My cock will go so deep in your ass it'll reset your psychotic brain."
"Okay," Ronan said as he stuck a hand between the two of us. "Enough. We haven't even been here this long and we're falling apart? It's ridiculous." He turned to me. "Can you please make Jack breakfast? He'll be up soon. I can do it, but you cook better than I do and he deserves it after yesterday."
I sighed. "What does he want?"
"French toast and eggs sunny side up. I didn't let him have it yesterday because he started problems with Cian."
Cian whistled. "Look at you growing a set of balls."
Ronan ignored him. "I'll get started on coffee."
"Yeah, thanks," I grunted.
I stepped away from Cian before I took him to the ground and showed him why I was in control and he wasn't. Cian was our reaper, an elite assassin, but that didn't mean I would back down and let him run all over me. Sure, he could kill. But I had fought my entire life. I'd fought through my childhood, as an adult, through the ranks until I took up residence on Declan's right hand side. I had to keep that position. After yesterday, if Jack ever decided to say anything, I'd be screwed. Either I would be on my own or dead.
