I sighed and looked away.

“I’m not going to lie. I feel a bit upset,” she said with a sigh as she got off the bed.

“I’m sorry,” I apologized as I watched her pick up her things.

“Why are you apologizing? I haven’t had sex this good in a while,” she said with a smile.

“Yeah, but still,” I said as I sat upright, “It’s really strange. Something like this has never happened.”

“Could it be…that Adam Hunt is finally in love?” she asked, and her expression showed she was on the verge of bursting into laughter.

“Would you shut up?” I frowned as I got down from the bed and picked up my underwear, “I have no time for that emotional nonsense.”

“‘Emotional nonsense’ he says, but he hasn’t been able to get her off his mind,” she teased.

I frowned at her but she was even more amused.

“Sigh, I guess I should finally settle down too then,” she said as she put on her bra, “My family insists I should. But I’m an old hag at this point.”

“Don’t say that about yourself, Hannah,” I said.

“I mean, it’s the truth. You’re also old, but I guess that you’d be able to find love being a billionaire and all,” she continued.

“You’re really not going to listen to me, are you?” I shook my head negatively before putting on my scrubs.

“Nope. Come help me with my zipper,” she said as she turned her back to me.

I helped her with it and she gave a satisfied nod.

“Adam? If you’ve really found love, you should pursue it,” she said, “I’ll pursue it as well.”

“Again, I’m not in love with anyone. It’s just a minor inconvenience at this stage of my life,” I replied.

“Whatever you say,” she shrugged.

As I dropped her off at the station and headed to the office, I couldn’t help thinking about what she had said.

Was I really in love?

Nah, it definitely wasn’t love.

I knew I had apologized, but maybe my brain was trying to tell me that apologizing wasn’t what I had meant to do in the first place.

Maybe, all I want is a taste of her.

Yeah, let’s go with that. It’s definitely that.

There’s no way I’m in love.

Love at first sight?

Yeah, right.

All I have to do is turn on the usual charm, and she’ll be all putty in my hands. Or maybe I can just flash her some cash.

She’s no different from any other girl.
