Chapter one

Meeting Dr. Hunt

Adam

I ran my fingers, oh so delicately, down her soft sides and watched her shiver.

This girl… this beautiful, strong, outstanding woman who denied me the attention I rightly deserved, was shuddering, gasping gently and biting her lower lips as she anticipated more from my hands, my tongue, and…my body.

“For someone who has been quite stubborn in her approach with me,” I said as I brushed my lip against her ear, “It fills me with curiosity why there’s a sudden shift.”

She glared daggers at me… but it only made her cuter than my heart could take.

“Why didn’t I notice you earlier?” I asked as I placed my hand on her cheek.

I’m not the kind of man who looks down on others; it just so happened that everyone was already beneath me.

Man, woman, living and breathing. Most of them have been at the mercy of my trained eyes, hands, and blade.

Then again, as a surgeon, I can’t help it if people’s lives were in my hands. All I had to do was ensure that I saved as many lives as possible.

Noble, right?

That‘noble’cause has made me one of the most powerful men in Richmond, Virginia. I was forty-six years old and had built a billion-dollar hospital. Celebrities, politicians, and other important figures flocked to this place. Of course, I handled them myself.

After all, ‘Save a man’s life, and he’ll be in debt to you for life.’

I also had a life that kept me entertained, and my favorite entertainment was the women.

As an incredibly handsome, rich, and powerful man, attracting women was like flies after honey. All I had to do was breathe and they’d come flocking.

But this story isn’t about those women who were easy. It’s about the one who acted like I didn’t even exist. Just recalling it makes me pop a vein.

“You look handsome when you’re deep in thought,” a sultry voice said.

I looked up and noticed Amanda letting herself into my office and closing the door behind her.

“Amanda, my dear,” I greeted with a smile, “To what do I owe this pleasure?”

“Can’t afriendvisit you for private examinations, Dr. Hunt?” she asked, and I heard the sound of the lock bolting shut.

She temptingly bit her lower lip as she walked over to my desk with her hips swaying, and I couldn’t help smirking in reply.

“Last time I checked, I’m not a gynecologist. May I refer you to Dr. Maria Jones?” I raised a brow.

“I’d rather have you inspect me, doctor,” she said as she straddled my lap, “An oral investigation perhaps?”

“Fine then,” I replied as I held her head in place and kissed her.

She moaned gently in my mouth, and I stroked her hair.

This was life—no commitment to any relationship, just having the luxury of fooling around.

Little did I know that it was about to get a whole lot harder.

“God, you taste so good, it’s almost unbelievable,” she said as she stopped the kiss and stuck out her tongue.

“Why, thank you. It’s coffee and chocolate,” I said as I licked her tongue, “Remind me to get you some after work.”
