"Not for me," I said once I figured out what he was getting at. "I'd put acid in it and then feet or hands. While they're attached to the person—"

"All right, all right, I get it," Ares said hastily. As if he wouldn't be there to watch and enjoy it along with the rest of us.

Kennedy looked up at me. "Acid? That sounds…"

"Exciting?" I suggested. "Arousing? Hot as fuck? Fun?"

She exhaled half a breath. "Something like that, yeah." She let out the other half of her breath with the last word.

I squeezed her hand. "I knew you were the woman for me. Most of the girls I know would be grossed out. Or at least find it weird."

"I'm not most girls," she said.

I remembered the way she let Mannix fuck her on Samuel Bell's desk not even half an hour ago and grinned. "You certainly aren't."

"None of you are like most guys either," she said.

"Don't you fucking forget it," Ares growled.

"As if you’d let me," she retorted. "You in particular are very good at reminding me every chance you get."

"Ares only does it to remind himself. He has a fragile ego." I grinned as he flipped me off.

"Fragile ego, my ass," Kennedy said.

Of course, that was the perfect excuse to squeeze her beautiful ass. Not that I needed one, but I took it anyway. Her butt was perfectly round and firm. Exactly what you'd expect from a gymnast. I could happily keep my hand there forever, or slip it down her crack to toy with her rear hole. I wanted to lube her up and fuck her there. My balls ached at the thought of it. I was the first to fuck her pussy and her mouth, so why not her ass too? If that was greedy, I didn't care. When it came to her, I wanted all her firsts and her lasts, and as much in between as I could get my hand, mouth and cock on or into.

As I squeezed her tender flesh, I noticed Mannix looking back over his shoulder at Bell's house.

"You good?" I asked. I resisted the urge to look back too. Nothing said we were up to bad shit like glancing over our shoulders every few seconds. We were supposed to be playing it cool, so if anyone went past, they didn't pay us any attention.

His expression was a rare display of uncertainty. "I don't know. I don't trust Lila Bell and everything else seemed way too easy."

"It wasn't easy, it was executed exactly as planned," Ares said. "By you, in case you forgot. Now who has the fragile ego?"

"Still you," Mannix said easily. "My instincts tell me—"

The front of the Bell house lit up brighter than a Christmas tree.

"Fuck."

Chapter Twenty-One

Kennedy

Someone shouted, "Over there!"

That was immediately followed by a flood of people pouring out the front gates. Were those guns in their hands?

I decided not to stick around and find out. I kicked off my heels and ran, the guys all around me.

Those were definitely gunshots that slammed into the grass and sidewalk around us.

How the hell they missed us, I had no idea. I very much doubted those were intended to be warning shots. Whether they knew who we were or what we did, they were aiming with intent. Whether that intent was to kill or to injure so they could catch us, I had no idea about that either.

Frankly, I didn't want to find out. I didn't like either of those options.

"Come on. We're out of range, but not for long." Mannix waved us all forward, his expression steely calm. Reassuringly so.
