My condo door opened a second later.
“Honey, I’m home!” Fiona yelled.
I smiled and turned. “You’re still here? Thought you’d be gone by now.”
“Oh, am I in the way?”
“Big time,” I said. “I’m trying to plan an orgy.”
“Don’t let me be in the way,” Fiona said. “I can put in earbuds.”
“That’s good to know,” I said. “So you can just move in here then? Stay as long as you want?”
Fiona grinned.
Then she bit her bottom lip.
“What?” I asked.
She sighed.“I actually have an idea I want to talk to you about…”

It all made sense to me.
Sitting alone with a massive cheeseburger in front of me. The ocean to my left. Some guy playing a guitar on my right.
The sun tickling the back of my neck.
My glass of water sweating.
It all made sense to me…
I felt like ordering a shot of tequila but I couldn’t.
I had to drive back to the condo and collect my thoughts.
Of course, as soon as I opened the door, I knew Riff was home.
I stupidly called out the clichéHoney, I’m homething.
That was cringeworthy for sure.
Riff looked at me and I saw his eyes.
Just a tiny bit glossy.
You’ve been drinking a little, Griffin.
That’s good.
