It was the last drop that I knew would cause me trouble. The guy came along after I set up the rule against fucking clients, and he still never took the hint. I hadn’t seen him when I returned to the bar to wait until it was too late and he was pressed against my back. I scowled, trying to sidestep him, but he gripped my hips roughly, his face nuzzling my neck.
I didn’t have time to tell him to fuck off before he was yanked away from me. Leo’s good mood was gone, and I wanted to punch the guy. I was having such a good night. I leaned my back against the bar and watched passively as the guy struggled against the security guard’s grip. I recognized Mikey and smirked.
“Hunter, how many times do I have to tell you to keep your hands to yourself before you get the picture?”
He couldn’t answer. Mikey’s thick arm was wrapped around his neck, slowly choking him. Hunter’s face almost made me laugh, trying to look angry while someone choked him out. I glanced at Leo as he pressed himself against my side. He didn’t block me. He wasn’t looking to stop business. He was staking a claim, his hand cupping my neck and tipping my head so he could run his lips against me.
Apparently, Hunter knew who Leo was. The anger faded quickly into panic and he struggled harder.
“Mikey, drop him. I think he gets the picture.”
Mikey looked for Leo’s nod of agreement before dropping Hunter to the floor. He scrambled to his feet as his eyes darted between me and Leo.
“I think it’s for the best if we end our professional relationship or my friend here might kill you.” I thrust my hand forward and passed off his final USB with the shake. “Pleasure doing business with you. Now get the hell out.”
Hunter took off, tripping over his own feet and shoving people out of his way on his way. Leo was back to kissing my neck as I watched Hunter the idiot run into a wall before he threw himself out the door of the club.
When Leo nipped me, I shivered and jerked away, scowling at him. He was glaring at me.
“Don’t blame me for that shit. I’ve been telling him no since we started working together. He’s a grade-A douchebag.”
“You finished?”
I frowned. “Yeah, why?”
“I’m taking you home,” he growled.
I raised my eyebrows. I was sure he had his own shit to do, but apparently I was being punished for a handsy client. Leo nudged me toward the door, his hand tight on my hip. I usually didn’t leave that quickly after finishing a job. It looked suspicious. But it was Leo’s club. If there was a problem, he’d probably be able to handle it.
We sat in silence on the drive. He seemed to radiate irritation, and I rolled my eyes at him. “Is this how you’re going to be the rest of the evening? Because jealous and possessive really isn’t a good look on you.”
He shot me a dirty look. “He was all over you, Nicole. How the hell else am I supposed to respond to that?”
I pulled out my phone, intent on just ignoring him and his shitty attitude. Leo was good looking and owned several strip clubs. He probably had women throwing themselves at him all the time. He didn’t hear me complaining about it. Even if the idea of another woman touching him made me want to hurt someone.
At a red light, Leo snatched my phone and tossed it in the back seat. I growled, shoving his shoulder before I unbuckled and climbed into the back to grab it. I refused to move back to the front, though, and stretched my legs out across the back seat. Leo pulled up in front of his house and stormed out before I even unbuckled. I shrugged, climbing out and following him languidly, my eyes still glued to my phone.
I thought he’d be inside already, not waiting for me by the door. He grabbed my elbow and shoved me against it. Burying his hands in my hair, he captured my lips roughly. I was learning Leo never did anything soft, not if he could help it. His grip was tight, his body hard against mine, biting my lip when I refused to open for him. I could only hold out so long against that kind of power. But I wasn’t a fucking pushover.
I dragged my nails through his hair, making him grunt and shove me harder against the door. It was a battle for control and neither of us was willing to back down an inch. He ripped his mouth away from mine and trailed hot kisses down my neck. When his hand slipped under my dress, brushing my already soaking folds, I jerked and bit my lip against a groan. It was then that I noticed we weren’t alone.
“Leo, your cousins are watching us.”
A car was parked behind Leo’s, and two grinning idiots watched us from the front seat. Leo straightened and glanced over his shoulder.
“What the fuck do you two want?”
The driver rolled his window down, an innocent look plastered on his face slipping as he tried not to laugh.
“It's our job to make sure you get home safe. Not our fault you can’t keep it in your pants long enough to go through the door.” They both were cackling like hyenas and Leo had to stop my hand from grabbing his gun because I seriously wanted to shoot someone.
“Fuck off. We’re good.”
The driver opened his mouth to argue, and Leo’s hand knocked mine out of the way as he pulled out his weapon. The driver actually squeaked, jerking his head back into the car, and took off.
“Idiots. Every last one of them,” he scowled while watching them drive off. I felt the same. I still hadn’t found a cousin with half a brain and I worked with a bunch of them.
He tucked his gun away, his focus back on me. His hands on either side of my neck, he dipped to kiss me again. Slower this time, but with no less ferocity. It was like he was devouring me slowly. How he managed to do that and unlock the door at the same time was beyond me. I could barely focus on moving my feet as he dragged me inside, never once releasing me.
