“That’s my job.”
He yanked my shirt over my head and wasted no time sucking one nipple into his mouth while he pinched and rolled the other. I let out a moan, my hands gripping his hair as I tried to concentrate on my movement instead of the way he flicked his tongue against me.
I was going to come without ever having fully removed my clothes. It would be a first, for sure. When he switched to the other breast, I lost focus and stilled so he took over, moving my hips faster against him. We both groaned at the change in pace.
“Mateo, I’m–”
My release slammed into me out of nowhere like a freight train and I cried out, writhing against him. He snarled against my chest. I felt him jerk against me, his grip on my hips finally relaxing as he came.
While we reigned in our breathing, a voice called out across the hall.
“Mari! Time to get up! We’ve got self defense with James in twenty!” Jo was knocking at my door. The door to the room I was currently not in. I froze.
ChapterSeventeen
WasJo the type of person to barge in without an invitation?
“Come on, Mari! Get up!” She sighed loudly when I didn’t answer. “I ran to the store with Jaime to get you some essentials, they’re on your doorknob! Remember, twenty minutes!”
With that, she left. Or I assume she did, I couldn’t really hear her. She must not be wearing shoes to move that quietly. All the floors were hardwood or marble, no carpet, nothing to muffle sound.
Mateo’s shoulders shook, his forehead pressed against my collarbone.
“It’s not funny!”
He looked up at me, a huge shit eating grin on his face. “Yes, it is.” His eyes were bright and dancing. I shoved him, climbing off his lap. I grabbed my shirt and tugged it quickly over my head. I planned on hiding in my room until I absolutely had to go meet Jo but Mateo wrapped his arms around me, pulling me until I fell on top of him. I squeaked.
“Let go, you animal! I have to go get ready!”
He let off an exaggerated growl in my ear, making me shiver as I fought against him. I finally managed to wiggle free and leapt from the bed, almost running to the door.
“Mariposa?”
I glanced over my shoulder. He looked like a freaking sex god, lounging across the bed in the sun, his arms linked behind his head.
“What?”
“I like waking up with you.”
I flushed, fleeing the room without a second glance. I had my back pressed against the door to my room, my hand pressed to the middle of my chest. Shit. What was I thinking? He offered to wait, to give me time, and I freaking jumped him the first chance I got.
Tingles flooded my body at the memory. This morning, I couldn’t resist. What person could? He was moaning my name in his sleep and rubbing against me!
I cracked the door, peeking out, but Mateo’s door remained closed. In my rush to get in here, I had forgotten to grab the bags off the door that Jo had left me. All Target brands, which made me feel better. I would feel insanely guilty if she went and bought me super expensive clothes. At least Target brands I could easily pay her back.
I didn’t bother to shower, I was just going to get sweaty anyway. I shimmied into the workout clothes she bought me. I would have to ask how she guessed my size. Even the running shoes fit. I peeked out of the room again and came face to face with Jo who was about to knock on my door. She jumped.
“Holy crap! Don’t do that!”
I reached out and snagged her hand, dragging her into the room and closing the door. I pressed my ear against it, listening.
“What are we doing?” she whispered.
“Hiding from Mateo.”
She snickered. “Do I want to know why?”
I finally focused on her instead of the door. “No. Where are we working out? We aren’t leaving, are we?”
