“The governor perhaps?”

Ryan shrugs. “They were seen leaving together, so I’m guessing he’s her next victim.”

I lean back and turn my face to the sun and think about the woman who keeps her own agenda.

“She’ll be back and won’t like the welcome waiting for her.”

I turn and regard him with a dark expression, and he nods grimly. “Understood.”

“We’ll run over the plan after breakfast. My brother must be guarded in hospital around the clock and if anything happens to him, the guard pays the price.”

“Understood.” Ryan nods and then looks up and smiles and I follow his gaze and my heart lurches when I see Chastity emerging into the sunlight looking like the dark angel she is, her long black hair trailing to her ass and her deep brown eyes heavy with sleep.

“Morning.” She greets us both and then dips her face to mine, her minty breath resting against my lips as she kisses me long and deeply, not caring that my consigliere is watching with amusement.

Then she slides into the chair beside me and reaches for the coffee pot. “I need this like I need to sleep for a month.” She groans, and Ryan grins before standing. “I’ll get to work, boss, ma’am.”

He moves away and Chastity says softly. “He’s a good friend.”

“What makes you say that?”

“He knew I wanted you to myself.”

“Is that right?” I arch a brow with amusement, and she sets down the pot and reaches under the table, resting her hand on my already hard cock.

“Fancy a dip in the ocean?” She grins suggestively and despite the day from hell stretching out in front of me, I can’t say no to the most tempting invitation I am going to receive any time soon.

CHAPTER37

CHASTITY

Fucking Leo in the ocean is my most favorite thing in the world, and I knew he needed to switch off for a moment. When I saw him at breakfast, I registered the pain and worry in his eyes, and I understand a lot about that. It’s a permanent guest at my door and I have learned to manage it over the years. Distraction therapy is the best kind there is, and we wasted no time in enjoying it to the full.

However, now we must face our fears and as I sit watching Leo dress for the will reading, my heart is beating frantically as it reminds me this could be the last time if Carlos gets his way.

“What do you think will happen?” I say curiously and Leo shrugs, apparently unconcerned.

“That we’ll return here and begin the business of setting this family back on track. Since my father’s death, it’s been struggling with no real direction and our enemies are taking advantage of that.”

“In what way?”

“They are moving in and trying to take over our interests, sure of no repercussions all the time the don is missing. My captains are doing their best, but they require a firm leader. Carlos was happy to watch the chaos, knowing when he became don, they would all cower behind the lines again when he took over. However, after today there will be a new force to be reckoned with, and this time the Matasso family will be without a leader.”

“You sound so sure.”

“I am.” He heads my way and drops a scorching kiss on my lips and says huskily. “I’ll be tied up in a meeting all morning and after lunch we’ll attend the reading of the will as a family.”

I smile but as he closes the door behind him, I spring from the bed, my heart beating with excitement because last night I had a plan to bring this to a close and if Leo discovered what it involves, he would lock me in here and throw away the key.

Once I’m dressed, I head downstairs out to the terrace and find the two people chatting I hoped would be here. They glance up as I join them, and I don’t miss their curious gazes as I smile. “Hi, I’m Chastity.”

“Abigail.” A beautiful woman smiles warmly and a woman who looks a lot like Diana smiles nervously. “Flora, Diana’s sister, but don’t hate me for that.” She shivers. “Our looks are the only thing we share.”

I peer at her curiously, noting immediately that she is far prettier, with a softer expression than the damaged soul that shares the same DNA.

“Dom’s girlfriend?” I enquire, and she nods as I smile at Abigail.

“How is Matteo?”
