I blindly push through them all, Ryan and Dom close behind me, and it soon becomes obvious that four people are missing.
“Seal the exits.” I bark at Ryan, who races off and Dom yells, “What the fuck is going on.”
“He’s taken Chastity.”
“Who?”
Dom is confused and I yell, “My fucking fiancée!”
His surprise is almost comical as he stares at me as if he’s seeing an imposter because I don’t date, let alone get engaged and yet I don’t have a second to explain this to anyone because the most important thing is to find her before it’s too late.
CHAPTER31
CHASTITY
Iam bundled into a car and cuffed, my mouth silenced with tape.
Carlos and Giselle sit on either side of me as Diana watches from the sidewalk. My hatred for that woman burns fiercely as the car moves away, leaving her behind to fabricate even more lies while I try to get my breathing under control as Carlos holds a gun to my head.
“Chastity Blake.” He barks out a laugh. “Or should I say Callie Morgan?”
My blood freezes as I register a name I try to forget.
I hoped this was just to hurt Leo, but now I realize it’s a lot more than that.
He knows who I am.
His wife is silent beside him, and I feel her curiosity reaching out to me. There is no emotion in this woman, possibly crushed many years ago after living in hell with this sadistic bastard.
“I was acquainted with your parents, Brad and Penny. He says it almost conversationally, as if we are passing the time of day and the rage scorches my soul while he speaks as if greeting the child of an old friend.
“They worked for me until they decided to pocket what was mine and failed to give it back.”
He laughs as if it’s a fond memory before pressing the gun against my head.
“It’s time to collect their debt and in their absence, you have that honor, my dear.”
He says to his wife, “You know how I hate being owed anything. Well, this woman’s parents owed me two thousand dollars.”
She says nothing, and he’s obviously used to that because he laughs softly. “I mean, that was back then, and the interest has grown rapidly through the years. Callie is going to pay me back every cent before I send her to join them.”
I shiver inside but keep my shit together because I must remember my training if I’m going to survive and so I try to re-focus and push my fear aside because if I’ve learned one thing in life, it’s there’salwaysan opportunity. No matter how fleeting that may be.
We must drive for twenty minutes before we reach a warehouse by the docks, and my blood runs cold. He does mean business.
The car stops and as soon as the door opens, I am pulled roughly out and trip on my dress and fall to the concrete, grazing my arm as I fall.
Carlos follows me out and delivers a sharp kick to my side, causing me to groan as the pain catches me off-guard.
I hear him say to his wife, “Come, my dear. This won’t take long, and then you may return to the party.”
Two soldiers pull me roughly to my feet and grip my wrists hard as they drag me after their boss and his creepy as fuck wife into a disgusting warehouse that reeks of the blood of the damned.
We move past a huge derelict space into a room with a metal door that is small but fills me with fear when I see the cuffs attached to the damp, dark walls.
“Welcome to your new home, Callie.” He jeers.
“It’s been a long time coming.”
