He’s mine.

And this time, I have no intention of letting him go.

FYNN

It’secstasy in her arms, and I don’t want to let her out of my sight, but duty calls. As always. We still have a bounty on our heads, and it’s not likely to get solved by itself. When I reluctantly get up the next morning, shower and dress, I order room service, ready for when she wakes.

I leave her sleeping. I can see she’s exhausted, and not just from last night’s activities.

I make my way down to Marco’s office where we all reconvene for the latest debriefing and what Vaughn and Sloane have uncovered.

The first person I see is Sloane, sitting at Marco’s desk with Charlie on her lap, while the others are just arriving.

She has a cup of coffee in her hand, and as I enter, she looks over the rim of her glasses at me, whilst Charlie jumps off her knee and heads straight over to me. I reach down to give the little fella a pat and he laps it up like always. This little black and white dog is the pride and joy of Rocco and Sloane’s lives, along with their new puppy Bear, who’s made quite a home for himself in their suite while they’re at work.

“Hello, Fynn,” she says, looking a little more chipper than everybody else in the room.

“Hello, Sloane.” I smile.

“Haven’t seen you in ages,” she goes on.

“I hope Rocco’s treating you well?”

“Of course. But he’s been out all night.” She frowns.

That isn’t good. It means that Rocco has been out at the warehouse, and if he’s still out at the warehouse, it means he hasn’t gotten any new information.

“I guess someone’s gonna be the bad guy.” I shrug.

Marco gives me a chin lift, as does Angelo. Enzo’s on the phone, and there’s no sign of Dante.

“Sleep well?” Marco asks, one brow quirked.

Smartass. He knows where I was.

“I did, thank you for asking.”

Angelo gives him a side-eye, not in on the joke.

“Something I should know about?” Angelo frowns.

I wonder if Marco is going to rat me out, it’s not like him; he’s usually the most reserved out of all of us.

“He's sleeping with Sage,” Dante says, entering the room, a big smile on his face.Charlie discards me at this point and runs over to Dante for some attention.

I give him an annoyed look, because this isn’t how I wanted to let Angelo know. It’s always Dante and his big mouth.

“Since when did this happen?” Angelo shoots his gaze back at me. “And how come I’m the last one to hear about it?”

“I thought you’d be glad that I’m finally making an honest woman out of her,” I state calmly.

“Wait, what?” Sloane stops what she’s doing. “When did this happen?”

“What the fuck did you do?” Angelo groans. “If you upset Sage, I will rain fucking fury down on you, rest assured of that, brother.”

“I didn’t do anything,” I say. “But Sage and I have come to an agreement.”
