Well…..damn.

I look across the counter at the woman who hasn’t left my house, or bed in the last two weeks and smile to myself. Bri is sitting on the stool, holding onto her coffee mug like it’s going to tell her the secrets of the universe. My woman is not a morning person, at all, and it’s highly entertaining for me.

I whistle to myself as I pour my own coffee, since obviously, the murderous one out of us gets her fix first. I can see her scowl at me out of the corner of my eyes. “Must you be so damn chipper in the morning?" shegrowls impressively for someone so tiny.

I place the coffee pot back and give her a big smile, just to annoy her some more. “Not everyone hisses at the sun first thing in the morning, baby.”

She licks her lips in a frustrated sort of way, still managing to look sexy as hell, and gives me a glare. “Xander it’s too early on the weekend to be up and functioning already. We should’ve stayed in bed until at least eleven.”

I take a sip of my coffee and shake my head at her. “That’s wasting half the day away.”

“Who cares?" shegrumbles and looks at me like something she wants to toss into the garbage. “It’s our day off. You know, the day where we get to relax and do nothing.”

I’ve learned the last fewweeks thatwhile Bri is the ultimate professional when it comes to getting up and ready for work, the same cannot be said about her on her days off. Truthfully, the woman reminds me of a sloth, only moving when absolutely necessary while trying to sleep twenty-three hours a day. How she can just lay around doing nothing is mind boggling. I had to practically drag her out of the house last weekend. And the only reason I accomplished that was because I lured her with food.

“Baby, I can understand one day, but you tryin’ stay attached to the couch two days in a row just isn’t happenin’.” I ignore the death glare that is sent my way. Luckily for me, she’s still on her first cup of coffee, which means she can’t movequickenough to actually harm me yet.

I’m waiting for her smartass reply, because there definitely will be one, when the doorbell rings making me frown.

Bri and I stare at each other with matching looks of confusion. I know it’s not Jax because he just pounds on the door three times before letting himself in, same with my father. Dee doesn’t even knock anymore and everyone else would’ve at least sent me a text before coming over. “You expectin’ anyone?” I ask, already knowing the answer though.

The look I receive says it all…and then some. “Who would I be expecting? The sleep fairy?” I swear, I have never met anyone so grouchy in the morning. I hope she gets to her third cup soon, because she’s a little scary until then.

“Alright, smartass, it was just a question.” I snort at the way her eyes narrow. You would think that after the four orgasms I gave her last night, that she would be in a better mood this morning. “I’ll go check it out.”

“Were you expecting me to offer?" shequestions before raising the mug to her lips. I might need to start buying espresso or some shit to get more caffeine into her system faster. Damn woman is evil in the morning.

I walk out of the kitchen and towards the front door. Through the frosted glass I can see a shape that looks like a woman. Huh. Maybe one of the girls decided to stop by to see Bri. Poor suckers should’ve called first. Iwould havewarned them to stay away for at least an hour.

I open the door and come face to face with a woman that I’ve never met before but would know anywhere. I give her a smirk and lean against the door frame as she eyes me from head to toe, but not in a sexual way, this is more clinical. She’s taking her time in deciding if I meet her standards, as if I’m not just standing here. When she’s done, she looks up at me with familiar eyes and gives me a wicked grin.

“So, you’re the hot boss, huh?" shesays while wearing a shit-eating grin. I can already tell this woman and I are going to be great friends.

I tilt my head to the side. “Is that what she calls me?”

She shakes her head and rolls her eyes. “Nah, she’s been lying to me, telling me that you’re fat, old and bald.”

I snort and shake my head. “Sounds about right,” I chuckle and hold out my hand. “Xander.” I give her a look. “But I’m guessing you already knew that, seeing as you somehow found my house.” I have a few ideas how that happened.

She gives me a genuine smile and reaches for my hand. “Danica, well Dani, preferably. Nice to meet you.” I gently shake her much smaller hand and release it. “Where’s the hoochie I’m related to?”

I bark out a laugh and side-step allowing my newest buddy into my house. “In the kitchen, drinking her first cup of coffee.” I feel the need to warn her, since she most likely knows what her sister is like in the morning.

Dani rubs her hands together in glee. “Excellent. I love screwing with her when she’s all grumpy and homicidal.”

I shake my head while smiling. “Be warned, she’s within reaching distance of the knives,” I chuckle.

Dani waves a hand in the air. “Pssh, she’s not gonna do shit to me. She knows damn well I’m the vicious one in the family. Bitch is grumpy right now, not stupid.”

I walk ahead of her and stop at the entrance to the kitchen. Bri looks up and gives me a frown. “Who was at the door?”

I give her a smile and step aside to reveal Dani. I have to hunch my shoulders to my ears to try to block out the insanely loud screeching that’s going on. There’s also a lot of jumping, hugging and crying. I go back to my coffee cup and take a sip while watching the two women reunite after some time. I lean my ass against the counter and cross my legs as I watch them mumble into each other’s ears.

Bri releases Dani and wipes her eyes. “What are you doinghere, crazy?” She looks so damn happy. “How did you even find me?”

“That’s actually a long, somewhat fun story,” Dani says while pointing at me and my coffee cup.
