“They ain’t married,” I mumble. Not that I would mind if they were. My own mother was a horrible excuse for a mom. She left before Jax and I could properly wipe our own asses. Dee will always be more of a mother figure to me and Jax than our egg donor ever will be.

“You gonna stop interruptin’ and shut the fuck up?” he growls. Ah, there’s the Edge I’ve missed. Not this new one who sweet talks his daughter. Not that I blame him, she really is the cutest baby in the world.

I put my hands up in surrender and even keep a smirk off of my face. “Please, continue.”

Now his eye is twitching. God, I’ve missed fucking with him. “We decided to do some diggin’ into the place she used to work at.”

“You mean Marrow did since you can barely turn on a computer.” I really can’t help myself. I swear, I try to, but he makes shit so easy for me, that I lose any semblance of self-control.

He leans forward and steeples his fingers together. I have to admit, he does look menacing, but we’ve been brothers too long for me to fear him. “I can end you and make it seem like Kea did it. No one would ever question her motives since you love to do nothin’ more than piss her off. Pres would cover it up for her and just pat her on the head while telling her that he’s sorry you annoyed her so much.”

I twirl a finger in the air. “Will you get on withthis?I do have shit to do.”

I can see him take a deep breath while probably counting to ten in his head. I get such a high off of pissing him off. Some people like drugs or alcohol to get high. Not me. This right here is all I need.

If looks could kill, I’d be dying a horribly painful death. “We looked into the owner of the garage," hegrunts out and I imagine it’s taking all of his self-control to not strangle me. “He has a son.” He looks at me meaningfully.

I lean back and let out a breath. “I know that her ex is theowner'sson. She mentioned that to us earlier today.”

“Yeah, it gets better,” he says with a dark look, one that’s actually not directed at me.

“How?”

“Daddy has enough money to make someinquiriesabout where she’s workin’ now.” Edge gives me a feral smile. “Unfortunately for him, Bri isn’t in the system as workin’ anywhere right now.”

“What are you talkin’ about? We entered her into our system when she started with me,” I ask but I already have an idea.

Edge shrugs. “I dunno how any of that shit works, but Marrow handled it. She’s in there but not. You would have to ask him. All I know is that he’s keeping her pretty well hidden.”

“That’s good then. Nothin’ to worry about,” I say but get a bad feeling when I look at Edge. His eyes are glinting dangerously.

“He’s still lookin’ for her. Like unhinged.”

I narrow my eyes. “How do you know that?”

Edge sighs loudly and reclines back into his chair. “Marrow checked those stupid social media sites, and the guy is posting shit about missin’ her and askin’ people if they’ve seen her.” He scrubs a hand down his face. “He keeps postin’ pictures of them together with shit like “I’ll get you back one day baby.”Just really creepy shit honestly.”

“Well….fuck.”

“Pretty much,” he nods his head in agreement. “He seems like the type of fucker who’s always gotten what he wanted and isn’t used to be told no.”

“Just wonderful,” I sigh, even though rage is simmering under my skin. I hate men like him. They have everything handed to them and throw a fucking tantrum when something doesn’t go their way.

Most people assume that I became the VP because of my dad, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. I worked my ass off to get where I am. Dad never handed me or Jax shit, he made us work for every little thing we got. The old man wouldn’t even give us a loan to start our shop. We had to scrimp and save every penny we earned. I was pissed as hell at the time, but in hindsight, I can see why he did it. We both have a greater appreciation for everything that we were able to accomplish, something we wouldn’t have had if dad just handed us the money. Though we both like to tell him, that stunt landed him a one-way ticket to a roach infested old folks home.

“Did she say if she told anyone where she’s at?” Edge questions.

I nod my head. “Yeah, but just her parents and one of her sisters. They live close to the fucker, which is why she went to the shelter.”

He nods his head thoughtfully. “She didn’t want any blow back on them.”

“Her one sister is married and has kids. She was afraid that he would do something stupid.”

“Makes sense,” he agrees. “You can never really be sure what a piece of shit like that will do.”

I lean back in the chair, feeling exhausted. “I figured that we would just keep an eye out for anyone hanging around. She’s kept herself under the radar for this long, I don’t really see a reason to think that he’s gotten a bead on her location.”

“Alright,” Edge nods, before standing up.“Let me know if you need anything. But now it’s time for you to get the fuck out so I can go home.”
