“Gran, please.” I can’t ever seem to escape the interrogation with these two. Every single moment, every intense exchange is on their radar. It’s like they’ve each got some type of inside telepathic powers that scream out to them whenever Garrett gets within a foot of me.

“I’m just saying, if something dirty took place sweetheart I need to know where to sanitize. We’ve got the health department to worry about.”

“Oh my god!” I groan, hanging my head and silently praying for peace. “First of all there is no need to sanitize anything. I have no intentions of telling either of you what happened if anything. But rest assured the health department wouldn’t catch any type of violations. Now, enough, so can we please move on?”

I grab the last of the containers and turn to walk toward the front of the bakery. Hearing Casey still carrying on behind me, but I refuse to turn around and give them a single ounce of attention.

Though on the inside I am still smiling at the memories of Garrett, and my body is still strumming with pent up need for more.

My phone vibrates on the nightstand, and I roll over reaching out for the phone. When I lift it and type in my password I smile when I see a message from Garrett.

Garrett: You sleeping?

Sitting up, I slide back and lean against the headboard.

Me: I’m awake.

I can’t seem to slow my mind; it's been all over the place since I left the bakery earlier and came home to shower.

Garrett: I assumed since the house is so dark that you were in bed.

Me: I’m in bed, but awake.

I reply in a hurry and then his words slowly sink it.

Me: Dark? How do you know?

Quickly I climb out of bed and go over to my window. Peeking around the edge of the blind my heart races when I see him sitting in the driveway with his truck idling. Then my phone vibrates again.

Garrett: Hi

I realize he must have noticed me. Stepping back and hurrying toward my bedroom door and slowly opening it, trying my best to be as quiet as possible. Gran was in her room, but I can see the light on under her door and the last thing I want is to gain her attention.

I feel my phone vibrate again but I ignore it as I cross the living room and slip my bare feet into my flip flops. Turning the lock slowly, I twist the knob and hold my breath silently praying the door doesn’t creak.

Looking back toward Gran’s room, I see there is no sign of movement, so I hurry outside and close the door behind me.

Walking down the steps I round the cab of the truck and hear the locks of his truck doors flip. Pulling the door handle the dome light fills the cab and Garrett flashes his smile, his dimple winking at me.

“Are you sneaking out of the house, Kyra?”

Climbing up, I close the door behind me and slide closer, turning to face him. He holds my stare, and I am fully aware of the fact that I have yet to respond to his question. But honestly I could barely concentrate on anything other than my racing heart and shaking hands.

Before losing my motivation I crawl over his lap and immediately his hands go onto my hips. Settling, I lean in and softly kiss his lips, watching his eyes begin to flutter shut.

It may seem weird, but I watch him, relishing in the way he settles into our kiss.

Creating just a small fraction of space, he slowly opens his green eyes and I slide my fingers over the dark stumble along his chin.

“Feeling like a teenager all over again, but yes, I may have snuck out.”

Garrett smiles and again I lean in and kiss him. Only this time his hand comes up and he grips the side of my face, holding me closer. Deepening the kiss, my body relaxes into his and I shift against him, causing a deep groan to fall from his lips.

“Are you trying to kill me?”

His words tickle my lips and I smile, only to do it again.
