He laughs and smacks my ass before rubbing away the sting. My eyes widen, already ready to go again myself.
“We’re out of this shower and ready to see Callum in fifteen minutes. Deal?” I try to sound firm, but the way I’m clamping down on him like a vise is not very convincing.
“You bargaining with me, Firefly?” His smirk is pure sex.
I don’t stand a chance when he gives me this look.
He moves so my back is against the marble now and holds me there, dragging in and out of me so painfully slow, I want to scream.
“Theo,” I whimper.
He doesn’t move any faster, but he does go harder with each deep dive.
“I missed this so much,” he says.
His rhythm falters, his cockiness dissolving as his intensity builds. Anguish crosses his eyes and I wrap my arms around his neck, my hands yanking his hair as I lean in to kiss it away.
“I did too,” I whisper against his mouth. “I missed everything about us.”
He squeezes his eyes closed and pistons into me harder than he ever has. My head falls back as I hang on and another orgasm barrels into me without warning.
He comes with a sharp groan, and it feels so good neither of us moves.
I don’t care about time anymore.
His earlier playfulness is gone when he smooths my hair back and carefully washes me.
“Are you okay?” I put my hand on his cheek and he leans into it.
“I get waves of remembering my life without you,” he says softly. “Over and over again. It wasn’t that long ago that we felt impossible. I guess it will take time to know this is not just a dream.”
I nod, knowing exactly how he feels.
“I’m sorry.” He lifts my fingers to his lips and kisses them. “I wanted to make you feel good and somehow turned this into something else.”
“Oh, you made me feel good.” I laugh, leaning in to kiss him again.
He smiles against my lips. “We’ll get there,” he whispers.
And I don’t know if he’s saying it to me or to himself.

Callum nixes The Dancing Emu plan.
When he shows up at the house, he’s scowling as he tosses the pizzas on the counter. Theo told him if he was going to be such a wuss about going near karaoke, all while breaking Grinny’s heart, he needed to at least bring food.
“You know I don’t go for that singing shit,” he grumbles to Theo.
Theo chuckles and tosses a paper plate to him, which he catches despite it flying over his head.
“You’re a hard-hearted bastard, turning Grinny down like that,” Theo teases.
“She knows I don’t go for that shit either. You and Scarlett finding happiness with your significant others has been the worst thing to ever happen to me. No offense, Sofie,” he says, waving his hand my way. “I’m happy for you guys and all, but damn.”
It’s the most words I’ve heard him say at once in…maybe ever.
“How exactly is our happiness the worst thing that’s ever happened to you?” I ask, trying to tamp down the smile that’s taking over my face.
