Page 76 of Say I Do

Benito’s eyes flashed with something dark and twisted. I swallowed back the moan the look tried to pull out of me. What was it about Benito Vitale that had me acting strangely?

I turned around and sifted through a few of the clothes. I pointed to a couple of suits before glancing at Benito. I expected him to have his phone out and working, but his dark brown eyes were on me.

“Anything else?” the girl helping me asked.

“A few dresses. Do you have any short skirts?”

She nodded. “We sure do. We just got a new summer line that would look wonderful on you.”

Benito’s face stayed impassive at the mention of dresses and skirts. But his Adam’s apple had bobbed as he swallowed hard. He liked seeing me dressed up.

“Also, some lingerie.” I followed behind the excited clerk. “My fiancé will be picking them out.”

“If you want, you can try some of them on. We do have a changing room.”

“Sugar bear, you think you can be good while I try on clothes?”

Benito’s right eye twitched, and I pulled my phone out to snap a picture. He was in my face in seconds, calloused hands wrapped around my phone.

“What was that?”

“I took a picture; you looked like you were about to have an aneurysm.” I pulled my phone out of his grasp and pocketed it.

“Delete it.”

“Not happening.”

“What other pictures do you have on that thing?”

I hummed. “Some with the tentacle dildo near your mouth. I even have one with the pink glittery one stuck to your forehead.”

“You don’t.”

I did, and plenty more. At some point, we both stopped responding to sudden movements in the bed. I’d found myself plenty of times in the middle of the bed, wrapped in Benito’s arms. Had no idea how when we both favored having one hand around a weapon at all times.

“Give me the phone.”

I ran from him, dodging his efforts to grab me as I danced around the racks.

“Harlow, give me the phone.”

“We’re supposed to be picking out lingerie.” I winked at him. “And we’re in public, honey bunny.”

Benito stood up straighter as if he’d just remembered. He offered his hand, and I intertwined our fingers.

“I will get that phone.”

“At what cost, dear?”

We picked out a few more clothes and lingerie. Benito had been serious when he said he’d pick them out himself. Some of the ones he chose I knew would get torn off my body. I doubted I’d wear half of them for longer than an hour or two.

I felt like I was vibrating right out of my skin with excitement. I almost wanted to go home right now.

“We should get dinner after this,” Benito said, interrupting my daydreams. “There is a nice restaurant around the corner.”

“What is this, a date?” I asked.

Benito froze, and I would have laughed if I didn’t realize what I’d said. The shit was slipping out of me way too easily. I blamed his dick. Benito worked that thing like a magic wand. I was being nicer and, overall, a decent human being. That wasn’t me.
