Page 57 of Say I Do

I handed over a wad of cash, shutting down any question he might have had. “Once I get out, keep driving around.” I handed over another wad, easily a couple hundred. It should make up for whatever he’d miss out on. I got out on the first right and met with Nabu and Quincy.

“Thought my dad was watching you?”

Quincy shrugged. “He is, but I’m down here helping Kei today.”

The mention of my brother made me see red.

“Calm down, killer. He’s doing nothing but showing the big man he can’t handle it.”

I’d laugh, but all my hard work was going down the drain. Screaming it wasn’t fair was pointless. My job now was to be Benito’s husband. My old life no longer applied to me.

“Nabu, where is Riku?”

“He’s keeping the Italian busy. They are three blocks away. Some of the other boys are here.”

My back stiffened. “How many?” I didn’t need my father or brothers figuring out what was happening. If Benito looked as if he couldn’t handle this shit, it would blow up in both of our faces.

“Only five of us. We know to keep it quiet.”

I nodded. It would have to do. “Make sure Tony stays alive. No one touches him, am I clear?”

Nabu nodded. I focused on Quincy. “Get what I needed?”

“I think you’re insane, but yeah. Why you looking into this anyway?”

I had no fucking clue. Benito’s face came to mind, and my cock twitched. Warmth swirled in the middle of my chest. “Is it a problem if I am?”

Quincy shook his head. “Never seen you lift a finger unless it was to benefit the organization.”

I grunted. “Nabu go help run interference.”

“Are you sure, sir?” Nabu glanced at the restaurant we stopped at. Anyone who had been to Chinatown knew who ran it.

“Yeah,” I said. If I went in with anyone, it would become a whole ordeal.

He didn’t question me any further as he left our side.

“You sure you want to go in looking like that?” Quincy asked.

I was wearing plain blue jeans and a black shirt. Not normally what I wore, but if I’d stepped out of the penthouse dressed up, Benito wouldn’t let me leave without a million questions.

“You got a change of clothes for me?”

“Nope. You should have said you needed one. Think we can find a decent sucker to strip?”

I didn’t have that kind of time. Tony would find me sooner or later. My phone buzzed in my pocket. I knew it was Benito without looking.

“Yeah, I found a sucker right here.”

“Where?” Quincy looked around. He shielded his eyes from the harsh sun rays as he attempted to look for the sucker.

Quincy had on black slacks that tapered off right above the ankle paired with a clean white button-up. His sleeves were rolled up, showing off his tattooed arms.

“I don’t see—” He stopped the moment our eyes met. “Oh, come on.”

“Quincy, get naked.”

“This is bullshit. You’re leaner than me,” Quincy grumbled as he unbuttoned his shirt.
