“Ditto.”

“I mean it. I refuse to not get dick on my honeymoon!”

I laughed as he hopped a pew and threw the knife. It sliced through the air before it found a home in a man’s chest. I shook my head until I realized I knew the man.

One of the Acetos.Andre, you fucking moron.

Working with Qiang? What the hell was he thinking?

He's thinking I killed his brother.

There was no going back now. The dominoes had been set and tipped. Harlow and I had both fucked up; there was no way around that. Now that this shit had started, someone had to finish it. For the sake of my family, that someone had to be me.

I pulled my gun out and shot at Andre as soon as he came into view. He ducked out of the way. When he came back around, he glared.

“This is a stupid decision, Andre!” I called.

“Yeah? Tell me where my fucking brother is, and I’ll stop!”

Not going to happen. If I told him hey your brother is in a hole on a construction site in little pieces, he would be a hell of a lot more pissed than he was now. As if he knew the conclusion I’d come to, he fired at me again. I shoved my back against a wall.

“Shit.”

My eyes went to Giancarlo. He was helping Ash and Tex out through a backdoor. Enzo was busy sticking his knife in someone’s arm. I breathed a sigh of relief. Everyone was safe so far. Finally, I could focus on what I had to do. I raised my gun and squeezed off three shots. Each one found its target, dropping men to the ground. Two didn’t move. The last one made gurgling noises as blood bubbled from his lips. I stepped over him and kept going.

“Fuck!” I growled as sharp pain laced up my arm.

One of Qiang’s men stared at me, a grin on his lips as he held a knife in his hand decorated with my blood. I stepped toward him. Harlow had stabbed me more than enough times by now. Hell, I’d started enjoying it. I laughed as he tried to come at me again.

“What was that? Do better.”

“Fuck you,” he snapped as he lunged for me.

I took another cut to the arm, but I grabbed his wrist in the process. My nails dug into his flesh. The knife clattered to the floor. I picked it up and stabbed it into his gut. His mouth fell open, shock in his eyes as I stabbed it in deeper and twisted.

“Fuck, you with a knife?” Harlow said as he walked up to me. “That’s why I won’t be denied honeymoon dick,” he sing-songed. He leaned against me. “Can I borrow that?”

“Sure.” I yanked the knife free. Blood spilled on my shoes as the man dropped. “Here.”

“So considerate,” Harlow sighed. “Fuck, I love you.”

“I love you too.”

I watched him take off before he rode a guy to the ground, his blade buried in the man’s chest. For a moment, I stopped to stare. Harlow was hot as hell with a knife in his hands. Blood splattered over his white dress, decorated his face, but he kept stabbing. I wanted to stay where I was and take a picture. As I was grabbed, I gave up that idea and focused again.

Chaos was all around me. The smell of gunpowder, blood, and sweat filled my nose to the point I couldn’t think straight. For some reason though, I thrived. I completely let myself go and threw myself into the fray. No sitting behind a desk, no taking orders, no being the reasonable one. I shot, stabbed, and choked my way through the church. For every hit I took, I gave back double until I ended up on the other side panting. Blood dripped into my eye. I wiped it just in time to see a gun aimed at Harlow.

Quincy grabbed the man’s chin and forehead. With a twist he snapped his neck. The man crumbled as Quincy turned to look at me. My heart still raced, but I nodded at Quincy. He nodded back. Whatever problems had been between us were done. Besides, anyone who looked out for Harlow was okay by me. As long as Quincy didn’t cross any lines, I was fine with him being around.

And if he fucks up, I know how to handle him.

“There you are.”

The voice behind me sent a chill down my spine. I turned. Qiang stared at me, his gun aimed at my belly. I swallowed thickly.

“You know this is stupid, right?” I asked. “This is going to be splashed all over the news. All of us will be under a hell of a lot more scrutiny now.”

“Don’t care,” Qiang said slowly. “I told you I want what’s mine. I’ll do whatever I have to do to get Harlow back.”
