Page 85 of Say I Do

He squirmed in his seat. “No.”

“Do you mind if I speed this up?” Harlow asked as he stood up. He leaned over and pressed his lips against mine before he straightened up again. “Clearly, he’s full of shit, and he’s depriving me of your cock.”

My stomach tightened. “Go for it.”

Harlow lit up before he turned and stalked over to Daniel. The man’s pleading fell on deaf ears as Harlow produced a knife from his pocket. I wasn’t even surprised anymore. Every time I tried to confiscate one of his knives, he found a way to get two more. It was fun to see where he’d pull one from next. As long as they weren’t pointed at me.

Without a word, Harlow sliced Daniel’s pants off. He ripped them from his body, tossed them aside, and then tapped the knife on his meaty thigh.

“Do you think your family would be upset if I butchered off slices of your thigh and switched it out for the meat in their fridge? How do you think it would feel if they knew they were eating you?”

Daniel whimpered.

“He has a wife, no kids, but a brother that he takes care of as well.” I scrolled through my phone. “Although they’re all pretty estranged at this point. Apparently, Daniel was arrested for possession and then driving under the influence. It’s surprising you’ve kept a job at all.”

Whistling, Harlow cut into the man’s flesh as he screamed. “No wonder you’re so desperate to get a story! Although I don’t think one picture of two happily engaged men fucking will do much for you career-wise.”

I stood up. “It wouldn’t. I’m willing to bet my left nut he planned to take what he could get. After he wrote us up as common, indecent criminals, he’d sell that photo or spread it all over the internet, toss it up behind a paywall.”

Harlow wrinkled his nose. “You think people would pay to see us fuck?”

“Have you seen how you look when we fuck?” I asked.

Grinning, Harlow gazed off into the distance with a dreamy look on his face. “I did today. You’re right. It was pretty hot.”

I shook my head, but I knew exactly what he meant. Seeing us together in the mirror had turned me on even more than I’d been before. I glanced at other men wondering if I’d feel the same, but the truth was that only two men had ever drawn my eye; my ex and Harlow. Even then, only one had me completely intoxicated.

I don’t have time to think about my confusing sexuality right now.

Harlow made another cut. “Who knows where you were going today?”

“Everyone!” Daniel shouted as saliva dripped from his chin. “I told everyone at the office, my wife, my friends.”

“Bullshit,” I cut in. “You’re lying.”

“Y— You don’t know that,” he stuttered out. “I could have!”

“Sure,'' I shrugged. “You could have, but I know bullshit when I see it. You acted calmly in the trunk, but down here, you’re a mess. I’d say you lost all semblance of control the moment you were taken down here, and now you’re scrambling. I can see it in your eyes.”

Daniel glanced away from me. I smiled. People were so ridiculously easy to read. Even Harlow could be transparent when he wasn’t surprising me with a fork to the thigh or a punch to the gut. He was full of bombshells.

Harlow sliced down Daniel’s other thigh. “You shouldn’t lie. That’s not nice.”

“No, it’s not.” I patted my pocket. “You still got my smokes?”

“Yeah.” Harlow straightened up and took out my pack. Red fingerprints stained it as he pulled one out and slipped it between my lips. “Lighter.”

I pointed to my pocket.

Harlow reached his hand inside and pulled it free. The flame flickered to life as the tip burned bright red before it calmed. When I exhaled a cloud of smoke, Harlow tucked the lighter away again before he took my cigarette. His lips wrapped around it before he sucked in a long, slow breath.

Fuck.

“Do you mind if I play with him for a bit?” Harlow asked as he tilted his head and dark locks shifted over his shoulder. “It’s been a while.”

I waved a hand. “As long as I can join. I wonder who can make a better picture. You with your knife or me with my fists and cigarettes?”

“Oh, I like that idea.”
