Ash swallowed his food down with coffee. “Are you going to leave Benito?” Worry was written all over his face.
I shook my head. I couldn’t leave Benito even if I wanted to. We had a contract. Even more important, he had my fucking heart now. I couldn’t even recall when it had happened.
“I don’t know, and no,” I answered both of their questions.
“Well, if you want to plot some revenge, we are willing to help. We have to stick together,” Ash said.
I cocked a brow at the two of them. “Uh, why?”
“Because they’re assholes,” Tex said.
Ash laughed. His phone started ringing, and he pulled it out. “It’s Giancarlo.” He looked at us as if he wasn’t sure what to do.
“Don’t answer it,” I said.
“I can’t do that. He’ll show up.”
“I’ve seen it happen,” Tex said.
I held out my hand, and Ash passed the phone over. I hit the answer button and held it to my ear.
“Hey, babe, I’m on my way home. Get ready to pound my ass. I’m so fucking horny.”
I stared at Ash and pictured Giancarlo; there was no way their roles were reversed. Ash was so sweet.
“You will have to use the dildo instead,” I informed him.
Giancarlo stopped talking instantly. “Harlow?”
“Yeah, we’re having a—” What the fuck were we having? A bonding moment? That sounded stupid. “He’s preoccupied.”
“I’m coming to get my fiancé,” Giancarlo growled. “Put him on the phone.”
“No, it’s a Vitale-free zone.”
“You’re a Vitale, and Ash will be one soon,” Giancarlo argued. There was some commotion before I could answer. “Benito, get your husband. He’s kidnapped my man!”
My stomach flipped. Would Benito text me? How pathetic was it that I waited with bated breath for my phone to vibrate in my pocket?
Giancarlo groaned. “Enzo wants to know if Tex is with you.”
“I don’t know, is he?”
“I’m coming to pick Ash up,” Giancarlo said.
“If you try, I’ll ditch the phones and take them somewhere real fun.”
“I’ve heard of your definition of fun. You’re not taking my innocent fiancé anywhere.”
I rolled my eyes at the innocent part. I gazed at Ash, and he looked as if he was about to explode with anxiety.
“We’re hanging out for the rest of the day. Stick with your hand.” I hung up the phone and slid it back over to Ash.
“All day?” Tex asked.
I shrugged. I needed time to think before I saw Benito again. What I was going to do with the new information I had? I could keep quiet and let the ghost of his past lover sleep between us or claim Benito for myself.
Andre sat across from me.Men flocked him on each side. Given the circumstances, I couldn’t exactly blame him for the extra precautions. After all, I’d covered up his brother’s death. He might not know that for sure, but it was too much of a coincidence. As far as Andre was concerned, I had Lee killed. Or I had done it myself.
