Page 34 of Seduced By You

“Maybe I won’t.” She unclipped her seat belt. “I might shout, ‘Wiener!’ at the top of my voice.”

Laughing, I unclipped my belt, too, and opened the door. “I wouldn’t put it past you.”

We switched places. Fifteen minutes later, I turned off the country lane and through a set of wrought-iron gates with “Grange Manor” fashioned into the artwork. Lee shifted in her seat, sitting up straighter, and her shoulders hunched again.

“I’ve got you,” I repeated gently.

“I know.” She drew in a deep breath through her nose and blew it out. “I’m ready.”

A couple of other cars were ahead of us as we arrived at the circular, graveled entrance where valets waited for the next guest. In the center, set in a large water fountain, was a stone figurine of a man with the smallest dick I’d ever seen. It was almost as if the artist had run out of marble and thought,Meh, that’ll do.

I jerked my chin at it. “Think that’s modeled on Benedict?”

Lee burst out laughing. “It’s eerily fitting.”

The valet motioned to me. I pulled forward, stopping in front of him. I unclipped my seat belt, catching Lee’s gaze locked on a group of five people chatting by the stone steps leading up into the manor house. Three strangers plus Benedict and his betrothed. Lee twisted the hem of her shirt, creasing it.

“Oh God,” she murmured. “I can do this, right?”

“A hundred percent.” I tugged her hand away from her shirt. “Wait there. Don’t move.”

I exited the car and walked around to her side. Opening her door, I reached in with my hand. “Take it.”

Her warm fingers wrapped around mine. As she stepped out, Benedict glanced over. His eyes flared in surprise. I’d wager that, despite her RSVP, he hadn’t expected her to actually turn up.

An idea slithered into my mind, as slippery as a snake and potentially as deadly to my friendship with Lee if she didn’t approve of my “fuck you” methods. And yep, I admitted, a significant part of me saw an opportunity that might never come along again.

Making sure his eyes remained on us, I curved my hands around Lee’s face, tipping her head backward.

“Trust me,” I whispered.

Before she could answer, I pressed my lips to hers, and the world vanished. What started out as a gentle kiss meant to send a message to her ex morphed into a passionate encounter, engulfing me in a fiery blaze of lust. Kissing Lee wasn’t anything like the dreams that kept me awake at night. It was the moon, the sun, the earth, the stars. It waseverything.

She wasmy everything.

Lee opened her mouth beneath mine. A gasp of shock perhaps, or a need for air, but the undeserving fucker in me took full advantage. I slipped my tongue between her lips, wrapping it around hers in a sensual dance to the music in my head, my thoughts consumed with “I could do this forever.”

Lee thrust her hands into my hair and pulled me closer. A soft moan vibrated in her throat, and my groin burst into flames.

This single shattering kiss had incinerated any second thoughts Lee had about our fake relationship. We had no choice but to see it through now.

Chapter11

Leesa

I’m not in Kansas anymore, Toto.

What in thename of God was that?

My knees shook, aliens had abducted the bones in my thighs and replaced them with jelly, and an unequivocal dampness that shouldnotbe there gathered between my legs. Add to that the slight problem of losing the ability to speak, and I was toast.

There were kisses, and then there werekisses, and Kadon’s kiss was splat in the middle of the latter. Sweet Jesus. Save me from the urge to climb him like that giant oak tree we’d passed on the way up to the house.

Kadon Kingcaid was mybest friend. I wasnotattracted to him. Nope. No. Definitely not. Before we’d embarked on this stupid trip, I’d never once looked at him or thought of him in that way. I could sort of forgive my reaction to him in Paris. I mean… we were inParis. The city of love. He could have been anyone and I’d probably have had the same reaction. But this… this was new.

New… and scary.

Because that kiss had my mind tearing off in directions it had no business traveling.
