“It’s fine,” he said. “Makes it easier for you to wake up tomorrow morning and make me my breakfast.”

“That wasn’t a joke?” I said, frowning.

“No,” he said, laughing. “Those duties are not a joke.”

“Fine. Well, then I guess I better go to bed,” I said, but I didn’t move.

“And would you like to sleep here or somewhere else?” he asked softly.

“I don’t mind sleeping here,” I said nervously, wondering what I was getting myself into.

“Okay,” he said. He smiled. “Did you get my little present?”

“The butterfly?” I stared at him, and he grinned.

“So you did get it.”

“Yes, and I don’t know if I’m going to wear it tomorrow.”

“That’s fine,” he said. “It’s up to you.”

“Thank you,” I said, surprised.

“But,” he said, “if you don’t wear it tomorrow, then you’ll have to wear it tonight.”

“What?” I stared at him in shock.

“Up to you.” He grinned. “What’ll it be, tonight or tomorrow?”

“I do not know if you’re being serious with me, Finn.” When I looked up at him, there was a smirk on his face.

“I’m being one hundred percent serious with you, Harriet. You can wear it tonight or you can wear it tomorrow.”

“Um, I don’t really think you can tell me to wear a butterfly.”

“I can if it’s something you’re required to wear by your boss.”

“There’s no court of law that is going to agree that I have to wear a vibrator on me to keep my job.” I shook my head. “I would win.”

“Fine,” he said. “I just thought we could make this interesting.”

“You and that wordinteresting. Why do you love to make things interesting so much?”

“Because it spices up life, doesn’t it?” He shrugged and then headed over to the bed. “It’s fine if you don’t want to find some other…” His words drifted off.

“Sorry, what did you say? I didn’t hear you properly.”

“I just said do you want to experience life or do you just want to have a mundane, boring life?”

“Okay, so you’re seriously trying to tell me that if I don’t wear a vibrator to bed tonight or tomorrow when I go out, I have a mundane, boring life.”
