She laughed. “Then help me out here, cowboy.”

He followed orders until there were no more barriers between them. He grabbed a condom from the drawer and tossed it into the shower and cranked the water.

Then he let his hands touch. He wanted to touch her everywhere at once. From her head to her toes. Over her scars and happy spots.

In the shower, he used his body wash to massage her skin and ease the aches. And if he happened to spend more time on her breasts, he wasn’t apologizing for it. Especially when she was so responsive to his touch.

When he couldn’t stand it anymore, he grabbed the condom and sheathed himself. He boosted her up and held her poised just above him. “Say it, Tessa. Say it again.”

“I love you, Flynn.”

He lowered her as she said the words and they both groaned when he was fully seated inside her.

Tessa arched backward, pushing the contact even deeper.

When he started to move, she used her fingers to trail over his abs, his chest, his shoulders, and into his hair. Everywhere she touched, she left fireworks.

He reached between them and in only moments sent her shuddering over the edge. His name flew from her lips like a prayer.

He kept touching, kept pumping as she drifted back to awareness. Her lashes flickered up and she smiled at him. “I love you, Flynn.”

Her words had him thrusting faster, harder.

She repeated her words, the phrase becoming a chant.

When she flew again, he thrust twice more, then exploded into her.

Drawing in gulps of air, he kept a hold of her while they recovered. “You okay to stand?”

She laughed and nodded. “I’m good. You?”

He laughed as he cleaned up the condom and they rinsed off. “I’m good. Now maybe I can concentrate on something other than ripping your clothes off.”

He grabbed a towel and wrapped it around her, pulling her in for another kiss. “I doubt I’ll ever stop wanting to do that, though.”

“Sounds good to me.”

Laughing they dried off and Flynn forced himself to think about Pavic. “A lot has happened in the case since we left Midnight Lake. I’m going to have to leave in a couple of minutes.”

“What? It’s the middle of the night. Why? What’s happening?”

He took her shaking hands and kissed her. “It’s okay. I’ll tell you while I get dressed.”

He moved into his bedroom and pulled out clothes suitable for a night mission. All black. “We’ve had eyes on the location of the illegal casino you picked out. We’re going in tonight to break it up and take it down.”

She sat on the edge of the bed and he had to simply stop and enjoy the picture of her wrapped in his towel, sitting on his bed.

“Will my grandfather be there?”

“Doubtful. We don’t have any confirmed sightings of him going in or being in the area at all. In fact, no one’s had eyes on him since the attack back at home.”

Home. This condo should be his home. Even though he’d been thinking possessively of Tessa in his space, his mind had already accepted that Houston was his past. His future was up north with Tessa.

“So he could be at home or in the casino?”

He nodded. “Could be either, or somewhere else entirely. My gut says he’s at home. There’s no reason to believe he’s got a living space in the casino. He’s moved away from his operations. He’s separating himself from them, maybe passing things on to Karlo.”

Tessa stood and grabbed her bag, pulled out a pair of jeans and a long-sleeved tee.
