Since I moved back in, he decided not to hire another nanny. Daniel got his tenure, and now has more time for family and relaxing. We hang out with Liv and Sawyer and Jules and Tess, plus the other profs on the street.

I’ve been trying to keep my grades high since I decided to apply to grad school. Dressing like a good student isn’t enough, but I’m figuring out how to get my work done. When I have a moment of stress, I can vent to the girls, or beg a massage from my hot older boyfriend who, as a bonus, has more than his share of killer study tips.

Andy loves having me around, and I adore him. He’s the sweetest kid, and even if planning for an eight-year-old is extra work sometimes, it’s entirely worth it.

Angel is a speed demon. He still escapes at least twice a week, but it’s usually into the fenced back yard where Andy lures him back with lettuce and the promise of snuggles.

We’re family. All of us.

I still remind Daniel to have fun. Like tonight, when we’re going out with all our friends to the club where we first met. It has special meaning for me and Daniel.

“Okay, this is a PG zone,” Liv declares.

The dance moms look over, not bothering to hide that they’re watching us.

Andy sits on a bench to pull on his boots, telling Daniel about his day.

“She’s so much younger.”

“What’s he doing still with her?”

“It’s some fling. Wave good sex in front of a man and he’ll do anything.”

The dance moms are gossiping.

I turn and cross to them.

“Just one thing.”

Their eyes fly wide at being caught out.

“The sex isn’t good. It’s fucking amazing.” I wink and head back toward my guys.

Those women don’t know us.

They don’t know how close we are, how our lives have bonded us, how we don’t need anyone to understand us.

I trust Daniel to have my back when I can’t have my own. I love him and Andy more than I thought possible.

He’s more relaxed about life, enjoying himself. I don’t resent that he was with someone before me. I’m grateful to a woman I’ve never met, grateful I get to share the same man she loved. Now, he laughs more, teases more.

“We should get going. I need to find a hot dress so I can pick up tonight.”

“You’re going to throw yourself at some lucky guy?” Daniel asks, a teasing glint in his eyes.

“Yup. I have a great feeling about this.”

He drags me closer and rubs his lips over mine.

“So do I.”
