Every inch of her body did. She seized around him, squeezing so hard that she could feel his own orgasm rip through him. She felt the pulse come up from the base of him as a heat spread through her. He groaned, long and low as she tilted her head back and screamed his name.

Breathing hard, she gathered up the stars in her arms and tossed them down to him. All that light and energy and brightness she would bring back to his underworld. For if he was the demon king, then she would be his willing slave for all eternity.

Arms wrapped around him, she held onto his shoulders as if he were a lifeline. Lust pressed his forehead against her shoulder, trying to catch his own breath.

And then he pulled out of her and rolled her onto her belly.

Limp, pleased beyond delight, she happily sighed. “What are you doing?”

Her eyes snapped open as he slid into her again, seemingly harder than he’d been before. “I told you, little moon.” He gave her another sharp, hard thrust that left her gasping. “I’m not done with you until the sun rises.”

ChapterThirty-Six

He watched as the rays of the sun filtered through the thin slit of her window. Lust needed very little sleep, especially compared to his little human curled up on his chest. She was exhausted, far more than he’d thought she would be.

Perhaps he’d pushed her too far. She shifted slightly, and he smoothed a hand down her back, smiling as she settled against him. She’d started doing that in the first rest he’d given her. Only an hour or so before, he couldn’t help himself. But every time she’d almost woken, all he had to do was touch her before she settled again.

It was different with her.

Oh, the slow slide into her pussy was familiar. The feeling of complete euphoria, though? He’d never been so close to the heavens until this moment. Only Pride could live there, and yet this woman brought him to the very stars.

Why? What was so different about this one? When all others had only scratched an itch or entertained him for a night or so?

The evening they’d spent together had become a feast for his senses. Even now, he felt glutted on power such as he’d never had before. He had always been a powerful spirit, and he’d gathered enough of his chosen emotion to take on physical form. Few spirits were ever so gifted. And still, somehow, there was more power for him to gather from this little mortal who had split him open from heart to soul.

Sighing, he buried his fingers in the soft locks of her hair. Lust had taken his time while she slept, gently pulling apart all the tangles he’d created. He liked the way the silky strands fell through his hands and how lovely they were laid out on her pale back.

He could stay like this for hours. Days. Centuries, if he was being honest with himself.

He’d let the world burn around them and remain in his bed with her. It was the first place where his soul finally felt complete. A soul she was so certain he didn’t have.

She’d breathed new life into him, and now he didn’t know what to do. Because, in a strange way, it felt like this new power wasn’t his at all. It was hers.

Sighing, he tried not to think of what he had to do today. He’d promised she could see her family, and that was partly why he’d let her go. But Lust had seen the writing on the wall.

Minerva wouldn’t let her pet go easily. She wanted Selene in her pocket, and Lust had changed that reality for her. Which meant Minerva would do whatever she could to get Selene back.

He wasn’t sure what she’d do. But he’d seen what sorceresses could do, let alone the High Sorceress herself. There were a great many terrible things that could happen to the woman in his arms, and he’d destroy them all if that would make her safe.

The thoughts frightened him. He’d only been protective of his brothers. They were the few who he connected with, and they felt the same about him. They’d torn the world apart together to rebuild it better than it had been before. This little woman had nothing to do with that promise to the very world itself.

And yet... he would give it all up for her.

Frowning, he shook his head to clear it of those thoughts. He had to focus on the task at hand.

Minerva needed to understand that her daughter was no longer hers. The little foundling that she’d sent to sabotage him would have to be released into the wild. And he’d play dirty, if that’s what she wanted.

Selene had family. Real family. He could find them in one of the villages, bring them together in the way only a god could. And if that meant he had to pay her family off to lie to her that they’d wanted her, then so be it. He would survive that lie. Selene would be happier with him than she would in this horrible, cold place.

And putting off meeting with Minerva was only him stalling the inevitable.

She moaned as he moved out from underneath her, though she didn’t wake. He must have been too rough with her last night.

Lust smoothed his hand down her back, his fingers slipping between her legs just to feel her again. The mess he’d made still lingered, and he’d take care of that when he got back.

A flare of heat sizzled from the base of his spine. But first, he’d bury himself inside her one last time. Just because he couldn’t resist her, even in this state.

He’d let her rest, though. She needed to sleep so he could bring her back to his castle. So he could fuck her on the ride back, then in his garden, then in their bedroom, on the balcony... Oh, there were so many opportunities.
