“I don’t know what you are talking about.” I said as I took my wine, taking a long gulp. Serena chuckled.

“Oh girl. You totally have the hots for him too. That is the ultimate sexy story. You should read the book we are at the moment.” She slid off the chair and hurried out of the room, Elsie’s eyes sparkling with mischief.

“What are you three doing?” Connor said as he came over with a seductive smile at Elsie. I glanced over to see Benjamin had taken his place on the floor with Aisling.

“We are introducing Aurora to our latest smut read.” Elsie said with a grin as Serena came rushing back into the room.

“Here. It is called Priest, so it is pretty self-explanatory.” She shoved the book into my hand as Liam wrapped his arm around her waist, leaning on her shoulder.

“Ohhh boy. Are we bringing another one into the fold?” He asked and Serena nodded.

“Yep. Aurora needs some inspiration since she has her very own hot priest who has wicked thoughts about her.” I stared at her in horror as Luca came over to look at the book.

“She isn’t wrong. I have seen how that man looks at you, Ror. So, what is this?” he asked, taking the book and flicking through the pages.

Did he seriously just agree with them about Caleb?

“Here. Let me show you.” Connor flicked through to a particular spot and held it out to him. I watched as Luca read the lines, his eyes getting wider as he grabbed the book, glancing at Connor who nodded.

“Yep. Welcome to the world of smut. We have our own book club and everything. We were originally called MWRS aka Men Who Read Smut but then the girls took over so now we are just the Smut Club. Not as fun if you ask me.” He rolled his eyes as Elsie slapped him playfully.

“This is hot as fucking hell. Ror, I want to reenact this with you tonight.” Luca said as he grinned, putting the book back into my hands before he kissed me, not caring who was watching. When he pulled away, I gasped for air and felt lightheaded, the others nodding away like it was entirely normal to be kissed like that in front of others.

“That’s what this stuff will do to you. I’ll add you to the chat. We can wait for you to catch up with this one.” Connor said as he pulled out his phone, adding us to a group chat.

“Ohhh. Okay then.” I said, feeling confused as hell at the turn of events, trying to ignore the fact that this started purely because they were asking about Caleb.

“Dinner is ready.” Alejandro called and everyone stood, making their way to the living room. Everyone but Dante was with his niece on the chair.

“This is my favorite bit!” she squealed, and everyone turned to watch her stand in front of the TV, hands on her little hips as she followed along with the little dragon.

“That’s it. Dishonor. Make a note of this.” She pointed at Dante who grinned, pretending to write it down. “Dishonor on your whole family! Dishonor on you, dishonor on your cow…” She giggled as Dante swept her up, whispering something in her ear. Seeing these men with the kids never failed to make me feel a lot of things… some of them would probably get me in big trouble.

“I have no issues with putting another one inside you, gorgeous. In fact, I kind of like the idea of having one of my own with you.” Luca whispered behind me, drawing my attention.

“Stop. You have no idea what you are saying.” I pushed him away gently, which earned me a heated stare. I noticed Kingston watching us, his own eyes dark with lust, and sighed. Great. It was usually women who were supposed to be the clucky ones, but these men were ten times worse and more determined.

I sat down at the table, surrounded by people who would kill without a second thought and yet loved with everything they had in them. It was so different from the world I had grown up in, the world that was still full of the same old-fashioned ways of doing things that my father left behind.

A world that wanted to see me fall and had no problems with killing me to achieve that. But as I stared at these people, I realized I had far more support at my back than I thought and if Rocco and my brother wanted a fight, I could bring them one.

Because I wanted this too. I wanted joy, happiness, and security. I wanted a full family and to change the way the world saw crime families. We weren’t all that bad… as long as you didn’t threaten what was ours.

Chapter eleven

Gianluca

“Declansenttheaddresshe found for Fabian’s Wizard guy.” I said to Aurora as she picked up her takeaway coffee. We had just dropped off Fabian at school and Aurora hadn’t had her hit of caffeine yet, making her particularly grumpy this morning.

Kingston and I had slept over again, trying to adjust to this new dynamic we were exploring. No sex, just connection. I still couldn’t believe we were in this place, that I was able to touch her, hold her, kiss her, and speak my feelings out loud, having them returned.

I felt like I was floating in some kind of bubble, a bubble that would burst if I wasn’t careful. Kingston was handling it worse than I was, I could see the moments of fear that would shake him to his core, fear that it was going to be taken away from him.

That was ultimately my reasoning for being so comfortable with us trying this together. He may not have known her as long as I had, but his love was just as deep, and the man worshipped the ground she walked on.

I would be a cruel man to deny him the same happiness I had, and I saw Kingston as a brother of sorts, he was family.

“Are we going to check it out?” Aurora asked as Kingston opened the café door for her.
