“And then there’s the other thing.”

“What?”

Col shrugged. “Me. I thought he’d say more thanbe discreet or walk away.”

“Such as?”

“Get your hands off my son, you money-grabbing pleb.”

Theo smiled. “He didn’t, did he? Anyway, all that matters is that you don’t want to walk away. And I’m mutteringyetunder my breath. I know you have your own reasons for keeping…this quiet. So let’s wait and see what happens, yes?”

Col nodded.

“We have one hour before I have to go back to my father,” Theo said. “Nowhere near long enough. Not for clubbing.”

“Then let’s fill every minute. Put some music on. Something we can dance to.”

Col laughed when the room filled with the sound of an orchestra playing a Viennese waltz.

“Do you know how to waltz?” Theo held out his arms as if he were holding a partner and moved around the sofa, turning as he went. “One, two, three. Three, one, two. Oh shit, I lost count.”

Col stopped Theo’s app and started one of his own playlists. As the song began, he pulled Theo into his arms. “No requirement to count. Listen, feel and enjoy.”

When they began to move, Theo stared into his eyes and as the words of Kodaline’s song washed over them, Col watched Theo begin to unwind. They danced separately, then together, joined by the music, united by the words. Maybe Theo wasthe one.At that moment, it felt like he was. Col twirled him round, then pulled him back into his arms, before dipping him in an unexpectedly smooth move that made Theo freak out, then laugh.

“Youcandance,” Theo said.

“Only with you.”

The push and pull of the song brought them together for a kiss, then pulled them apart. Col tugged Theo close and as they wrapped their arms around each other, Col’s cock swelled against his zip. When Col started to sing the lyrics into his ear, Theo sucked in a breath.

“Oh God. You can danceandsingandmend broken rabbits. There must besomethingwrong with you. Don’t tell me what. Let me find out. Might take me for… a long while.”

Had he been going to sayforever?Col’s heart fluttered. Too fast, particularly after he was coming out of a relationship with Robert, but it thrilled Col that Theo was as into him as he was into Theo. Theo was so different to anyone Col had been out with before. Maybe that was where he’d been going wrong and why nothing had lasted. He’d found he liked being in charge.

Col unfastened the buttons on Theo’s shirt, slid his hands up onto his back, then around to his nipples, small tight buds on a hairless chest. Though there was a treasure trail of dark hair below his navel that disappeared enticingly into the top of Theo’s jeans. Theo shrugged off the shirt and let it fall.

“You too,” Theo said. “I want to see. And touch. And lick and kiss and…” He tugged Col’s T-shirt over his head and let out a long moan. “Dance, sing, mend broken rabbitsandyou possess a seven pack?”

“Er… Seven?”

Theo frowned and pointed. “One, two, three, four, five, six and then go down a bit for seven.”

Col’s shoulders shook as he laughed. “I don’t even have a six pack.”

“Can I touch you?” Theo whispered.

“Where?”

“Hmm. Not sure if that was the wrong answer or the wrong question. Is there anywhere I can’t touch you?”

“Depends what you want to happen.”

“I want us to be naked. But I’m nervous.”

“Why are you nervous? I have the same parts as you.”

Theo had his hands on Col’s waist and was stroking his skin with his thumbs. Col noticed Theo was avoiding the scar on his right side.
