Soon he was rounding the corner and heading toward the famous port of Hollywood.
“Uhm, where are we going?” I asked again. “Please let me know if we’ll be gone for a few days!”
“Hhhmmm… that could be arranged,” he said with a grin. “But no, I did not plan for that. I know you’ll go crazy if it were a surprise like that.”
“Definitely!” I agreed.
He parked somewhere private where there was no crowd. We walked along a dock where there were some yachts parked. They all looked very luxurious.
He took my hand, his touch suddenly causing electric jolts to pass through my body. I felt fully alive.
“Are we having dinner on a yacht?” I asked. “But I’m not dressed for the occasion.”
“Don’t worry,” was all he said.
We finally came upon what I believed was his own yacht. It had an avant-garde design with lots of sleek lines in white and dark gray. The size was just right, but it showed two open decks on two separate floors. One had an open bar and dining area, while the other had a jacuzzi surrounded by lounge chairs.
I wasn’t sure how many staff members or crew there were, but two in uniform greeted us and ushered us in.
“Welcome, Atty. Jefferson, Sir,” one of them said. “And Atty. Brown.”
I smiled at him. “Thank you,” I said, the excitement in my chest growing.
Inside, I was amazed at how the space had been decorated to look like a small hotel. Everything was polished and well thought out.
Soft romantic music played in the background.
Robert clasped my hand in his. The simple gesture made my heart jump. He led me to the deck, where a table for two had been set up with lovely, fragrant flowers illuminated by candles.
I was surprised to realize that the music I was hearing from the inside of the yacht was being played live by a quartet.
“I love your new hair,” he suddenly whispered, bringing me closer to him. I got a whiff of his musky perfume and felt heady for a moment. The whole surprise was just so overwhelming.
“Thank you,” I murmured, glowing with joy. I didn’t really expect him to notice it. My hair had been cut to shoulder-length and bleached with very flattering highlights and lowlights.
He pulled me much closer, pressing his body against mine and making my core heat up uncontrollably. I could feel him growing in hardness, which made my breasts perk up and a pool of dampness begin between my legs.
It was so difficult to resist, but the thought of a baby in my tummy made me step back. He smiled in understanding, though his eyes were burning with passion still.
Someone handed him a bouquet, which he then gave to me. “Happy birthday,” he said.
The exquisite orchids, lilies, and pastel-colored moonflowers had been arranged so beautifully. No one has ever given me flowers before, especially not something as pretty as this.
“I don’t think I’m dressed for this kind of celebration,” I said as he pulled out the chair for me.
“You look lovely in whatever you wear, Kayla,” he said.
I was utterly flattered. Robert doesn’t seem to be the type of person to give out compliments like that.
A butler in uniform came forward. He greeted us and described the menu, which all sounded so expensive and delicious, though I didn’t understand some of the names.
One by one, the servers placed some delectable dishes on our table.
“Enjoy your dinner,” the butler said with a smile. He then poured each of us a glass of wine. "Uhmm, sorry but I cannot have wine right now. Can you please bring me a glass of sparkling water instead?" I asked.
All around us, the sky was painted with orange, pink, and purple hues, just as the sun began to set. In the background, the sound of the gentle lapping of the ocean could be heard. The breeze mildly massaged my face and played with the tendrils of my hair. Everything was just perfect.
The butler suddenly announced, “Let’s welcome Mr. Jonie Fleur to serenade you this special evening.”
