Playing my guide, Tomcat introduced me to his club brothers. Walla Walla was a nearly naked, tattooed blond who smiled like I was cool just for breathing. Holy hell was all his bare flesh something to behold!
Tall and hiding thick hair under a bandana, Dice owned big brown eyes which promised sexy fun.
His club brother Yagger was a handsome, blond hippy who winked as if I was the hottest thing in town.
Smokey said my name in a casually sexy way I felt down to my core. I instantly imagined running my fingers through his reddish-brown hair.
Even the club’s only girl member—flirty redhead Goose—exuded sex appeal.
By that point, I was certain I was simply lonely and hard up for any romantic attention.Eagle wasn’t special.I’d been horny over an illusion.
That belief left me as soon as I caught sight of Eagle near the front door. A dark brown T-shirt covered his thick chest as he spoke to a woman at least fifteen years my junior. The barely legal blonde used her hands to accentuate whatever story she was telling him. I couldn’t be sure if Eagle was bored. After all, his irritated expression wasn’t that different than when he spoke to his sister on the street. Maybe that was just his version of a resting bitch face.
No matter if they were enjoying a love match, I couldn’t resist the pull Eagle had on me. When I told Tomcat I needed to use the ladies’ room, he pointed me toward a bathroom at the front. I walked casually toward Eagle, willing myself to talk to him.Don’t chicken out. Be brave.
I stopped next to Eagle and the young blonde. She looked at me as if I might be looking to card her.
“What?”
“You’re friends with, um,” I asked, pausing as if I couldn’t place the name.
“Kimmy?”
“Is that what she said? I can’t be sure. She was crying and asked for someone to find you.”
The blonde looked around the party before walking away without saying a word to Eagle. He frowned at her departure like he did at her story. His grumpy gaze found me. In the least subtle once-over in all human existence, he checked me out from head to toe before focusing again on my face.
“Was her friend really crying?” he asked in a sexy, rough voice.
“Are you very protective of Kimmy?”
“I don’t know who that is.”
“The crying friend.”
“Why was she crying?”
Against my better judgment, I smiled and admitted, “I just said that, so she’d leave.”
Eagle’s frown darkened. “That’s mean.”
Startled by his reaction, I stepped back.
Eagle instantly smirked. “I’m just kidding. I don’t care about her fucking friend.”
I laughed behind my hand, embarrassed by how forward I was behaving.
“Are you a professor at the chick college?” Eagle asked, looking me over again. “You seem classier than these other girls.”
“What’s your name?” I asked rather than answering his question.
“Eagle.”
“Clearly, your parents understood early on how you’d be majestic,” I babbled, making me wonder what was in the drink Tomcat gave me.
Eagle chuckled. “Sure. No, I mean, it’s my road name.”
“It suits you,” I replied, giving him the once-over now.
