“Well, you answered a question, so get to stripping.”

Holding my gaze, Eagle stretches out one of his long legs and reaches over to tug off a boot.

I shake my head and mumble, “I feel like you should have started off with your shirt.”

“I want to talk.”

“Oh, should I put my shoes back on?” I tease and glance over the edge of his bed.

Eagle surprises me by licking my throat. I go still and recall the wonderful noises I’ve made in this bed. His lips suck at my neck before he leans back and smiles.

“When is your birthday?”

“I don’t know,” I mumble and pop the front snaps on my bra. “I think it’s in March.”

Eagle chuckles until my bra opens. I’m startled when he slaps his hands over his eyes.

“Ask me a question,” he says with his face still covered, “so I can remove my other boot.”

“How many sisters do you have?” I ask as I slide off my bra.

“Three half sisters.”

“Are you close?”

“No.”

“I saw you talking to one of them.”

“June always needs cash. I’d let her rot in a ditch, but I feel sorry for her stupid sons. They make crow noises when they see me.”

“Why?”

“I told you. They’re stupid,” Eagle explains while peeking through his fingers and zeroing in on me wiggling out of my jeans. “I didn’t ask a question.”

“I’m an only child. That’s my answer. My pants are coming off.”

“Were you lonely growing up?”

“No, I had a lot of cousins around.”

Sliding out of my panties, I stretch out on the bed and try to look sexy.

“Are you cold?”

“No. Your room is toasty.”

“Do you get cold a lot?”

“Yes. All the time. The house in Vermont was drafty, especially on the third floor, where Fiona and I stayed. She would sometimes wear a jacket to sleep.”

“Why did you move here?”

“You’re asking too many questions. I need a turn, so I can get you naked.”

“Don’t you want to know my shit?”

Stroking his furrowed brow, I can’t believe this man is real. Eagle’s like no one else, even though a half dozen tattooed badasses are just downstairs.
