“You mean after I sought comfort in the arms of his brother?” I close my eyes once more in frustration at myself.

“Yes, after that.”

“I haven’t spoken to him since yesterday. I told him I had to go as I needed to take another call.”

“And you lied.”

“Yup.”

“Could he tell you were lying?”

“Yup.”

“But why lie?”

“Because we’re drifting apart, Jessie, that’s why. It’s my guess there’s a reason behind it, but he’s not saying what it is.”

“Have you asked him?”

“Nope.”

“We’ve had this conversation before. About communication.”

“I’ll ask him.” I don’t want to tell her it’s unlikely to do any good. The problem is much bigger than communication.

“When?”

“Once I’ve finished going through the data from Molly’s phone.”

“And how long’s that going to take?”

“Maybe another day or so. I figured I’d glean every piece of information I could. I can then pass the details to you and Dyl for you to peruse at your leisure.”

“Did you go through her communication with Eoin?”

“That’s the only correspondence I won’t be looking at.”

“Aren’t you curious?” She snickers.

“We all know what that did to the cat.”

“You’re jealous.”

“I am not.” I snort.

“Liar.” She’s right. I am a liar.

“I don’t do jealousy. You know that.”

“You may not act on it, but you feel it all the same. Maybe he sent her clips of him jerking off.”

“Jessie,” I warn.

“Your voice sounds green.”

“How the hell can a voice sound green.”

“It just can.”
