I laugh. “Well, naturally, it’s me.”
“That means you’re going to have to call Lucifer Daddy.”
“Or I can just call him Lucifer.”
“My daddy would be upset if you didn’t call him Daddy. He may not say so, but I know he would be.”
“We’ll see. One step at a time.”
“You know, I always did wonder why you and Bailey looked so similar. You both look like Daddy. I look like my momma. You have her eyes, you know. Our momma had green eyes.”
“I didn’t know that.”
“We can share those memories like proper sisters now.”
“I guess we can.”
“Oh, dear Lordy Lou, Jaine!”
“What now?”
“You’ve had four years’ worth of sex with your soon-to-be brother-in-law!”
“Thanks for reminding me that I used to fuck my sister’s fiancé.”
“Razr definitely has a type. Sisters.”
We both chuckle.
“Can I tell, Dylan?”
“Of course. Eoin and Irish already know. That’s the reason I called. I didn’t want them to know without you both knowing too. I’ve told Lucifer he can tell Tadgh, Conor, and Bailey, but let’s leave it there for now, at least until we conclude this matter with Luciano.”
“Sure thing, partner. Do you think I should replace partner with sister now?”
I roll my eyes with a smile on my face. “Partner is just fine.”

I’m just finishing packingthe last of Ace’s stuff away when my burner vibrates.
“Dylan,” I answer with a smile, thinking it will be to do with my recent announcement to Jessie.
“I’ve just had Nate on the phone, Jaine. He’s got him. Luciano. He wants to know where we want him to be taken.”
I frown. “Why isn’t Nate insisting that he go back into custody?”
“That’s why I called. I was wondering if you knew the answer to that.”
“I don’t.” But I’m sure as hell going to make it my business to find out. “If he wants it to be handled mobster to mobster, then go ahead and make the necessary arrangements.”
“You trust him?”
“I trust him.” And for some reason, I really do. “Where did they pick him up?”
“Trying to board a flight for LAX.”
“So, he was coming for me.”
