He’s not as pleasant with me when he opens the door. He eyes me suspiciously.

“Who are you?” he asks.

“I’m here to pick up Charlotte,” I say, smiling.

“Excuse me?” he asks.

“I said I’m here to pick up Charlotte and take her home.”

“I don’t know who the fuck you think you are, but that’s not happening,” he says.

“I’m her boyfriend. I think we’ve played this game long enough, don’t you?” I ask, tilting my head to the side.

“Like fuck you’re her boyfriend. Get the fuck out of here before I call the police,” he says, anger evident on his face.

“That won’t be necessary. I’m sure they’ll be on their way any minute now,” I say, smirking.

“What the fuck are you talking about?” he seethes.

I watch the girls from the corner of my eye, heading towards the back door. My beautiful princess, with her red rimmed eyes and panic on her face.

“I think you know exactly what I’m talking about, but you can turn on a T.V. or open up your phone and see it for yourself, if you’d like,” I tell him.

I watch him pull his phone out of his pocket, his eyes going wide when he realizes what’s happening.

“I’ll fucking kill you, you piece of shit!” he yells, charging at me.

I pull the gun from my back pocket, aiming it right at him, making him freeze.

“I don’t think you will.”

I watch Charlie and Cameron come from around the house, and I don’t miss when he notices too.

“Get the fuck back inside this house, Charlotte,” he says, gritting his teeth but not moving.

“I’m sorry, but did I say you could speak to her?” I ask, cocking my head to the side. “You lost that privilege. She isn’t your fiancée anymore.”

“I’ll call her parents right now,” he says.

“Go ahead, but they know all about your dirty deeds also,” I tell him, making his fingers pause over his phone.

“What do you want?” he asks.

“I think you owe her an apology,” I say, nodding my head in Charlie’s direction.

“Cole. It’s not worth it.” The sound of her voice grips at my heart.

“Baby, it’s worth it. You deserve it,” I tell her, watching my sister wrap her arms around her.

“Yeah, that’s not happening. I don’t apologize to women,” he spits out.

I hear the sirens in the distance.

“Come on, Cole. It’s fine,” Cameron urges.

“I have power. I have connections. I won’t be going anywhere. You know that, right?” Jasper says with a smirk.

“Oh, you think the only thing I found out about you was the fact that you have no money and that you’ve been stealing from your clients? No, buddy, that’s not it.”
