“Are you sure about that?” His hand travels down to the waistband of my jeans, toying with the button.
“Yes. I’m sure I don’t want to fuck next to a creek that we just threw a dead body into. What’s wrong with you?” His finger flicks the button, and he pushes his hand down my pants.
I lean my head back against the tree. “Jesus,” I pant.
His fingers know exactly what to do to send me over the edge. “You’re so fucking wet, Belle.” His tongue swipes against my neck, and he continues to nibble and suck.
I don’t even realize that my hips are bucking against his hand. “You’re so fucked up,” I pant.
“You love it, baby.” His words send me over the edge. I’m desperate to feel more of him.
I shove him off me, and he looks at me confused. “Lay down.” I point down at the dirt. I watch him unbutton his pants and lay on the ground.
“You’re so fucked up.” He grins and I cover his mouth with my hand.
His hands grab my hips, and we move in perfect rhythm. It doesn’t even bother me that I’m fucking him in the middle of the woods, on the ground, after tossing yet another dead body into the creek.
This isn’t your typical fairytale. There won’t be a ‘happy ever after.’ This story is only full of villains. It might feel like we’re getting rid of all the trash in the world, but we aren’t any better.
Right now, in this moment, I can’t find it in me to care.
Chapter 14
Maddox
“Fuck, you feel so good,” I groan.
“I’m almost there, Maddox. Harder.” She arches her body and her head rolls back. She looks so fucking sexy right now.
Our pants and moans fill the woods as we both find our release. It doesn’t even phase me that I’ve been laying on the ground. I don’t even notice the rocks and sticks digging into my back.
“We are both all kinds of fucked up,” Belle mutters as she pulls her jeans back on.
I just shrug. There really isn’t anything to say to that. I know I’m fucked up, and after seeing what she did to Tiffany at the club tonight, there’s no question she’s on the same level of crazy as me.
“Let’s get out of here. This place creeps me out.” She shivers.
“We literally just fucked on the ground, and you’re telling me the place creeps you out.”
“Just because we fucked here doesn’t mean it doesn’t creep me out. My adrenaline was pumping, I couldn’t help myself.” I watch her walk back towards the path we came in on, in disbelief. I will never understand this woman.
“You coming?” She stops and stares at me like I’m crazy.
“When do you suppose we skip town now?” I look over at her. We’ve walked in silence almost the whole way back to the car.
“I dunno. I don’t think we’re high on any suspect lists or anything like that. I don’t really feel like there’s anything keeping us here anymore.” She stares straight ahead, almost as if she’s lost in thought.
I reach out and put my hand on her arm. “Hey. Are you okay?”
She stops walking and turns in my direction. “Jesus, fuck, Maddox. This isn’t bonding time. I’m fine.” She shrugs my hand off and picks up her pace.
The woman infuriates me. I never thought I was the type to settle down, but there’s some stupid part of me that wants to. It’s not like I have a family to bring her home to––not that she’s the type of girl you’d take home to meet your mom.
The thing about Belle is, she’s the kind of girl that will ruin your life. She comes in like a tornado, crashing through everything you thought you knew, and then leaves just as quickly as she came. She has no intention of doing anything that doesn’t benefit her in some way. She’s toxic, and apparently toxic is my type.
“What are you thinking about?” Her voice pulls me out of my thoughts.
“Nothing. Just how much of a shit show the two of us are.” I glance over, hoping she buys my lie.
