“Maddox. What are you up to today?”
“I’m going out to the Smith site today. The guys out there have some things they want to run by me.”
“You gonna take your woman with you? Show her the site?” He’s fishing. He wants to try and figure out if Belle will be here alone.
“No. She has the night off. She said she just wanted to relax tonight. I’m gonna head out around three.” I glance at the clock. It’s ten in the morning, that gives us plenty of time to come up with a plan.
“Alright, man. Well, I wish I could meet ya out there, but I have some things to take care of at the office. I’m sure I’ll see ya tomorrow.”
“He’ll be here tonight,” I tell Belle when I hang up the phone.
“Sounds like we need to come up with a plan.” She smirks and goes back to eating her breakfast.
The rest of the morning is spent somewhat normally. We discuss what the plan is, but then we spend the rest of our time curled up on the couch, watching T.V.
“I know you hate this, but I love you. It’s all gonna be okay. We’re pretty much professionals at this shit by now.” I lean down to kiss her.
“I’m not worried about anything, Maddox. You shouldn’t be either.” She’s so confident, it’s almost scary.
Belle
Once Maddox has gone, I take a moment to relax. I know I’m in for the fight of my life, but I’m ready. I’m sitting on the couch when I hear the front door open. My heart is pounding in my chest, and I feel like I could throw up at any moment. I’ve done nothing but throw up the past two days. I can’t figure out why I’m letting the nerves get to me.
“Well, what do we have here?” His voice is dripping with disgust. He has an evil smirk on his face.
“Why are you here, Chet?” I don’t know how I’m able to keep my voice calm when I’m feeling anything but that inside.
“I've been trying to finish something I started a long time ago, but you keep making it difficult.”
“So, come over here and let me see if you’re any better than you were back then.” I lay it on thick, hoping he believes me.
“Excuse me?”
“You wanna fuck me, right? Come and do it.”
He walks over and joins me on the couch. I try to keep myself from throwing up, being this close to him is bringing back some awful memories.
I throw my leg over him and straddle his lap. His eyes go wide. He can’t believe I’m touching him. I can’t believe it either.
Leaning down, I bring my lips to his ear, getting as close as I can. “I know you want to fuck me, Chet. Feel me squirm beneath your body. Do it. Touch me.” My words are husky. I run my tongue over his ear.
“Oh, fuck.” I feel his erection grow through his pants.
“You get some kind of a sick pleasure taking what doesn’t belong to you from young girls?” I ask, while pressing my lips against his neck, distracting him as best as I can.
“I do. You weren’t the first and you won’t be the last. You’re just the only one I haven’t been able to revisit from time to time. Then my good buddy Maddox delivers you to me on a silver platter.” He laughs. “And look, here you are, ready and willing, like I always knew you would be.”
“You won’t touch me again. You won’t touch anyone again,” I say calmly.
“Oh, is that so? What are you gonna do, Belle? Kill me? You don’t have it in you.” His hands grip my waist. I can feel his fingernails digging into my flesh.
He’s so far off… he has no idea.
“You won’t be my first murder, but I have a feeling you’ll be my last,” I say, mocking his previous statement.
I swear I see a flash of fear pass through his eyes.
Checkmate.
