He groggily sits up and peers at what I am holding. He takes the pills, throws them in his mouth, and then grabs the glass of water. He takes one large gulp. “Thanks, Elena.”

His words from last night resonate in my ears as he tries to collect himself. I push the feeling that maybe there is something between us down. He’d been drunk. Drunk people say all sorts of stupid things, including claiming they have feelings for someone when they really don’t.

“So, do you remember coming home last night?”

He holds his hand up horizontally to the bed and gives it a small shake, implying he only remembers a little bit. “I remember getting out of the car, but everything else is a blur. Mr. Matheson can hold his liquor.”

I chuckle. So, his declaration last night was nothing, isnothing.I want to kiss you. Goosebumps rise on my arms, and my stomach flutters. I push the feelings down again and stand back up. “Do you need me to drive you to work?”

He clears his throat, trying to rid the gravel from his throat. “If you don’t mind. I left my car at work. Plus, I want to give you the contract I have all my babysitters sign. It is more of a formality, but I find it’s best to have one signed.”

I nod and begin to move away.

Jasper’s hand wraps around my wrist, sending a shock through me. “I really appreciate you helping me.”

I nod and step away from his grasp. “Let me know when you’re ready to go. I’ll be in the living room, waiting for you.”

“Oh, you don’t have to do that. I’ll be a bit, so if you want to just go back to the guesthouse, I’ll come get you once I’m ready.”

“Yeah. Of course.”

I hurry out of the room, my thoughts getting the better of me. There’s no way that I am developing feelings for Jasper. Annoying Jasper. Irritating Jasper. Josie’s older brother, Jasper. I press a hand on my chest, feeling my heart race.

Chapter Sixteen

Jasper

PeoplestareasElenaand I walk toward my office. I pay no mind to them. It isn’t any of their business, and I have no intention of explaining the situation to anyone. When we enter, I go straight to my desk. I rummage through the papers and find the envelope with Elena’s background check. I toss it to the side. I don’t need it anymore.

I find the short, one page contract for her and what I expect from her as a babysitter. It also explains how I will pay her and any incidental costs I will cover. I turn to look at her. She glances around the room, taking everything in. It is a large office, tastefully decorated to put my clients at ease. I scan her, noticing how her body sways when she walks. Images of her on top of me flash across my mind. Images that aren’t even real, just my stupid mind thinking of that damn dream. I feel myself twitch in response.

She’d changed from her casual jeans and shirt to a simple sundress, showing off her perky breasts. The yellow flowers really make her eyes pop, and her wavy brown hair, instead of a bun, is lying loose on her shoulders. She looks absolutely stunning. I think about last night and how drunk I was. I told her I didn’t really remember anything, but the truth is, I remember telling her how I want her. How I want to kiss her again.

My imagination started to roam to the things I could do to her. I imagine finishing what we’d started in my office at home, here while everyone else works at their desks. A thrill of excitement goes through me at the idea we could be caught at any moment, that anyone could hear us.

The film starts rolling in my head. Me pressing Elena against the door as she objects, fearful someone will hear. Me pulling down one side of her dress, exposing her round breast, her nipple already hard and begging me to bite it. My fingers roaming down to the edge of her dress, lifting it up and slipping beneath the fabric of her underwear until reaching her warm, wet vagina. A loud moan escaping her lungs, forcing me to cover her mouth. My fingers slowly creeping inside, moving in and out as she searches for something to grab onto.

I shake my head and hand her the contract. “Look over those, and then you can sign it.”

Her eyes scan the document as I go to my windows and shut the blinds, giving us a little privacy. I also don’t want any of my employees seeing the bulge forming in my pants.

She peers up at me and asks, “Do you have a pen I can use? I know you won’t take advantage of me, so I’ll just go ahead and sign.”

I nod, grabbing a pen off the coffee table and handing it to her. I return to my desk and sit down, feeling my length grow even more in my pants. I subtly try to readjust myself beneath my desk. The last thing I need is Elena seeing me with a hard-on in the office. She seems to have completely ignored everything I said last night, as if it didn’t happen.

Elena uses my desk to sign the contract and hands it back to me. “Here you go.”

I set it aside, not too worried about the contract. I open my mouth to address everything I said last night, to see what she actually thinks about it, but she continues, “So what do you actually do here?”

I clear my throat before speaking. “My company helps our clients to access the capital markets.”

“Oh. Wow. So, you advise companies on important financial decisions?” She comes to stand next to my desk, looking out the window behind me. I turn ever so slightly, hoping she doesn’t see my lap in the reflection in the glass.

“Yes. Through mergers, acquisitions, stock flotation, and investments,” I answer as I began to pulsate. I cough as she continues to look at the scenery. “So, about last night.”

“Yeah? What about it?” She doesn’t look at me.

“Everything I said was true.” I stand up, feeling bold, and move to stand right behind her. In this position, she can’t see what she is doing to me, how she affects me. I bend down, my lips close to her ear. “I want to kiss you.”
