Finally, Leo released one of my hands to cup my neck and captured my lips in a slow, wet kiss I felt down to my toes.

“Wow,” I whispered when we parted. Leo grinned at me as he drew back, giving me just enough space to unlock my apartment door. As soon as we were across the threshold, he grabbed me again, kicking the door closed behind him.

He growled low in my ear, his searching fingers moving over my body, brushing over my nipples, down my waist, then landing on my ass as he lifted me up. I locked my legs around his waist and rolled my aching center against his erection. We both moaned at the contact.

Leo braced me against the wall and slid one hand beneath my top, the other kneaded my ass.

I shut my eyes tightly and ran my fingers through his hair. “I want you so much,” I whispered against his lips as I drew him closer.

“I want you too, so badly, for so long,” he said before parting my lips with this tongue and sliding inside. He stroked along my hot tongue with his own, thrusting into the wet heat of my mouth the way he would thrust into my center.

I squirmed against him, desperate for more of what his kisses promised. I could feel myself growing wetter, the ache between my legs growing stronger.

Leo tore his mouth from mine, then deftly drew my top over my head and tossed it aside. The sudden cool air against my heated skin made me gasp, but it quickly turned into a moan as Leo pulled down my bra and drew a taut nipple into his mouth. He laved my nipple with his tongue, then gently took it between his teeth, making me cry out.

I was one giant nerve ending; everything he did rippled through my body in wave after wave of sensation. As Leo moved his attention to my other nipple, a sound pierced the air, and he froze.

“That’s my mom’s ringtone,” he said.

It took a moment for the fog to clear from my overstimulated brain and realize what he was saying.

“Ella.”

“She’d only call if something was wrong,” Leo said, clearly conflicted.

The phone stopped ringing, and the apartment was quiet except for the sound of their labored breathing. Then, it started again.

“You have to answer it,” I said. “It could be an emergency.”

Leo nodded and slowly eased me to the floor, then stepped away to answer his phone. I quickly straightened my bra and replaced my top.

Whatever this might have been, it was over.

Chapter Five

Leo

Iclosedmyeyesand tried to get my body under control as I pulled my phone from my pocket.

“Mom, is Ella okay?” I asked in a quiet voice.

“She isn’t feeling well. I’m sorry to interrupt your night, but she has a fever and she’s upset. She wants you.”

“It's alright. I was on my way home anyway,” I lied. My mother loved Laura, but I didn’t want to explain why I’d been at Laura’s apartment at this hour. I couldn’t even explain to myself what I’d been thinking tonight. Or rather, why Ihadn’tbeen thinking at all.

I promised my mother that I was on my way and listened to her reassure Ella that Daddy would be there soon before hanging up. Sliding my phone into my pocket, I turned slowly back to the woman who’d just turned me inside out. Laura had put her shirt back on and managed to smooth out the knots my fingers had caused in her hair.

“Emergency?” she asked.

“Yeah,” I sighed. “Apparently, Ella is sick and wants me to come get her.”

“Poor thing,” Laura said. It didn’t escape my notice that she wouldn’t look me in the eye.

“Look, Laura…” I began, uncertain what I should say.

Telling her I was sorry for what had happened would have been a lie.

Laura shook her head as she began to walk to the door. “It's fine. It doesn’t have to mean anything.”
