I finish my food, twiddling my fingers in deep thought.

Come on, just say it already,I think. The longer you put it off, the worse you’ll feel.

It’s then that I look up and spot the guys studying me with worried expressions.

“Are you alright?” asks Yamarz. “You’re sweating.”

I wipe my forehead with the back of my hand, feeling it become moist with perspiration.

“Something’s troubling your mind, love.”

“You can tell us anything you know,” says Duma, reassuringly taking my hand. “We’re here for you.”

I glance between them and take a deep breath, their smiles comforting me.

Okay, here goes nothing.

“I woke up this morning feeling ill, so I went to the healer and she… She confirmed I’m pregnant.”

“Whoa!” exclaims Duma.

“Really?” asks Yamarz, an eager grin across his face. “This is amazing news,” he laughs, grabbing me for a hug.

Suddenly, a massive weight comes off of my shoulders, taking with it my anxiety. I laugh gleefully.

“Congratulations love!” says Duma, wrapping his arms around us. “Why were you nervous about telling us?”

“I thought there would’ve been frustration over who’s the biological father.”

“Don’t be silly, I don’t care about any of that,” he replies.

“Me neither,” says Yamarz. “It doesn’t matter whose it is because it’s ours altogether. We’re going to love that baby nonetheless.”

“I still can’t believe it,” cries Duma, tears welling in his eyes. “A kid! I couldn’t ask for a better family to raise it with.”

Yamarz and I pull him in for the biggest hug of the day. In their embrace, I feel safer than ever before. A wave of elation comes over me as I revel in the love shared between us. Nothing is going to stop us from now on.

THE END.
